Could you not have an A2 sight pinned on that barrel I linked? I though the journal looked long enough.

 

I believe so... just thought I’d save a step/cost of visiting the smith...

 

I believe TNTE will do what you're asking for, but it wouldn't likely be faster than taking the components to a gunsmith. Brownells may have what you need.

I’m getting mixed opinions about best 223/556 self defense ammo...
Some say hollow points upon impact have a much greater tendency to shatter and tumble. But others say HPs are 99.99% good to go from trusted folks like Hornady and/or Federal...
The other camp says standard M193 range ammo has better & more reliable damage and performance...
Thoughts?
Specific ammo recommendations?

 

I like M193 because out of reasonable barrel lengths at reasonable velocities and reasonable ranges it will tumble on impact and deliver massive wounding. For any non-SBR this means a few hundred yards of effective range on 2 legged predators. Now, hollowpoints are built to work and deliver non-tumbling expansion, which means they may open faster and cause more wounding sooner, at the cost of later explosive tumbling. LE usually depends on SP/HP rounds, but I stick with M193, unless I need greater range, then the OTM/tipped match bullets are my go-to.

 

I go with a quality HD/SD ammo, currently the choice is gold dots.

Put together a budget Pistol build. Only $590 for the upper and lower. Another few bucks for the Romeo5 & flip ups. Very very happy with this even though it’s apparently PSA GARBAGE that a bunch of you guys seem to think doesn’t do what it’s supposed to. The lower has the upgraded trigger and it feels great also

 

What psa upper is that? Looks nice!

 

My PSA runs good, but I haven't even put a full 1k through it yet, so I'm considering it still in break-in.

 

looks like the one I built for the wife, lightweight and easy for her to handle. Pretty much the same as yours just threw in a bcm lpk and a larue mbt I had laying around.

 

This one. Got it on sale as you can see. 10.5” carbine length!

 

My cousin got one of these and it is such a pain to get the pins in and out. the rear pinholes don't match up well. I'm assuming it was an anomaly, but it's also the only PSA AR I've handled.

 

I’ve got the same 10.5 upper and have had zero issues, as for the pins, no issue with those either goes together and comes apart just fine.

 

I bought the upper and lower totally separate, both are PSA & my pins work perfectly. I’m sure your issue is just related to a budgetary limitation of fit & finish on these rifles.

 

Yeah no issues with mine. The only thing I noticed that was somewhat undesirable was that the handrail was a little sharp on the edges. I took a sanding block to it and it’s super smooth now, problem solved.
