UCA

Hello I am lifting my 2018 Tacoma roughly 8-9 inches and I am wondering what UCA I should use for a lift that high. I have searched and searched and I can not seem to find anyone that can point me in the right direction.

I'm thinking that a UCA will be pretty low on your priority list before getting into that. Good luck with your mega lift.

 

Look at a company called Bulletproof Suspension. They do lifts up to 12" on the Tacoma, God knows why.....they can prob offer you the info you are looking for.

 

You can use any after market UCA. Essentially the UCA would only be for the last few inches of lift because the drop bracket will help with the first 6 inches. Like mentioned above bullet proof makes actual 6-12" lifts do you might not need aftermarket UCAs with one of their kits but I think their kits already come with them. I could be wrong.

 

I got a kick out of looking at the Bulletproof site. I love that you can get a 12" lift that you gain zero clearance from The pricing is great as well. What better way to spend $9k? I wonder if you get a free flat bill hat with each order? That would be required to captain a truck running something like that, right?

I am doing maxtrax 6.5 with a 3 inch strut spacer and bilstein 5100s 0-2 inch adjustable

 

I think you get more center body clearance which can be helpful in certain cases. Also clearing 40s is probably easier? Haha

Yup then maxtrax and some spacers unless you want full length coilovers.

 

Yea maybe one day but I am trying to figure out how to make the angle not so bad I figured a aftermarket UCA would be a good start

A main point of the Maxtrax is retaining factory geometry.
The UCA should really only need to deal with the remainder of the lift.
I'd suggest something adjustable though; like SPC or something with heim joints.
Be careful, some of the heim jointed UCAs have geometry for 6" bracket lifts.

Yeah it just depends how much more lift you want after the maxtrax do their job. If they are meant to lift 6.5" and you are only trying to gain another 1.5" then I think stock UCAs will be perfectly fine. If you're going higher than that I would think UCAs might be beneficial for alignment, but not necessarily. You'll clear pretty big tires with an 8" lift, no problem.
