FWIW I made mine with them completely torqued and haven’t noticed anything negative come from that.

So far so good. Teleworking and lawn work is all I’m doing right now! Govna just allowed alcohol to be sold with takeout food so I think I’ll order some Mexican food tonight with a margarita :D

I would leave the hangers bolted down, then snug your mounting plates to hangers, and tack the tube in place in numerous places, pull the tube assembly and weld it off the vehicle. I offer the cross tube end plates separetly FYI. Watch out for the weld bubbles from the tab/slot construction, don't have your plate land on those.

Thanks I have planned on doing the final welding off the truck and I'll go over the back side of the plate with a flapper disc to make sure it's nice and flat before paint. As always I appreciate your response

I look forward to your designed full leaf packs. Your work is very high quality and the function is unbeatable. Any chance your making them side specific like the deaver U539/540 springs?

Thank you. They will not be side specific, I think the lean is basically a non-existent issue with SOA springs that have a higher rate than limp-wristed stock springs (I feel stock spring rate is too low for stock weight DC).

Owners should remember to adjust driver side coilover up vs. passenger side and load truck accordingly. Another trick if you have 2 "same" packs is stand them up on a level surface and see if 1 has a bit more arch, if so, use it on driver side.

Edit: Here is an image of initial design I should have in hand soon. I wanted really bad to make the front eye a Berlin eye like the rear, but Toyota put a little tab in the way for parking cable and it was too close for comfort, since my purpose is to build a high functioning leaf pack that will eliminate the numerous issues so common in the Tacoma aftermarket spring choices.

I checked w my local dealer on the stock shackle kit- pn 04005-65104, he said it’s a single side and 2 would be needed. From the pics I saw online, looked like both sides were included...

Anyone order these? Are both sides included with one 04005-65104?

    Thanks

Yes if you purchase the PN listed on Archives website it comes with the PAIR, not a single.

Could be both. They quoted $37.08 for ‘one’.

In the past, they’ve been good with matching online prices but for this one, I won’t bother. Thanks @ARCHIVE and @Jpiskura for the quick replies

Interested if/when my current pack fails not that I'm expecting that for a long time. Also depending on lift too.

On lift, I was leaning towards 2" lift. Who has opinions on lift height? What is Ideal?

Note the pack thickness is going to be around 2" thick, Deaver U402 are around 3" thick, so these may allow an extra 1" bump travel vs Deaver

I think 2 " lift is a good place to start.

I like me a little rake so 2.5 is my desired height. But I think anywhere between 2-3 is good.

I'm assuming that's a static loaded number? I believe for most that'll be good. I'm the odd one so that may be a bit too high for me. Although I did not take before or after measurements on my add a leaf from ya but am pleased with the overall feel and height in the back, gotta dial in the front now. I can still corner at a pretty good speed and the resistance to squat with a load is nice. If anything I might suggest is swappable leafs or patterns to get the desired height like those icon leaf packs. Just a suggestion.

I was thinking 2" at stock weight DC. I appreciate the suggestions and I have left the possibility for an AAL to the pack, but also the the 4th leaf down could possibly be removed for light duty. The remaining leaves are still stouter than stock

I’d be in for 2.75-3 inches of lift or an optional AAL to achieve that.
