I agree. Some of the programs I use won't operate with 3 monitors, no idea why. At work, I have a laptop, docking station and dual monitors. When I got the orders that I'd be working from home, I grabbed my laptop and one of my monitors so I effectively have 2 monitors at home. Not ideal, but at least manageable.

The difference in screen sizes drives me crazy so I keep my laptop closed at work and have three monitors on a triple-mount. At home I also keep it closed on the dock and have the two 22" monitors. I could open it and have three displays at home if I wanted to, but I think three's the limit on the integrated graphics so I couldn't get 4 at work.

My home laptop is a ThinkPad T470s. I bought it a few months ago for about $450. Because it was becoming two generations old, Lenovo had them marked way down and I couldn't resist. It's an i5-6300u, 256 GB SSD, and 8 GB RAM which is plenty for what I do, and it's almost as thin and light as my X1 Carbon at work.

Yeah there's been some interesting emails.

I have an HP computer that has a slider that covers the webcam actually. I like it. I used to keep mine taped though.

I have a docking station and 1 extra monitor at home, so that's nice.

I borrowed a friend's Silverado once and thought the heated steering wheel was pointless. The tops of my hands tend to get cold easier and it doesn't help for that.

Although everything we do is internet based; we are still required to report into the office while all the Courts are shut down to everyday business. Still no word from management or the union how they plan to keep us safe from each other when we don’t/can’t abide by the CDC’s recommendation of social distancing.

I have dual 50" screens at work on my desk, it's gonna be a real chore working with my little 22" and my laptop screen at home, but it's looking like that is about to happen. VT declared stay at home yesterday and now NH is the only NE state that hasn't declared. It's crazy, the other states will be on the mend and we will be getting worse!

press conference at 2:30, it’s coming. They’ll be like MA and not eat their words by not ordering a shelter in place but will order business shutdowns and “advisories” to residents.

My advise would be to read the actual mandate or executive order as what they say during the press conference isn't always accurate of the full extent of what the order actually states. They usually make it seem more overreaching on the press conference than it actually is.

RI has been a day or two behind MA through all this.

But yeah, when MA ordered it, everyone at work was talking about police roadblocks and being pulled over, etc. But then if you actually read it, they basically say they can't force people to stay inside, just don't go within 6ft of people, etc etc. There's so many people considered essential, they won't be enforcing any rules or laws. And with how shifts run, they can issue a curfew but unlikely to be enforced. If they issue one, I'll be unchanged - still going into work since I'm essential, still bringing the dog into the woods to run since she's a 2 1/2 year old cattle dog, you can't convince her she needs to stay inside and take a day off, and there's no ruling that I can't - just don't go near people. :notsure:

I am also working from home in my dining room. What sucks is that my IT department replaced my computer a few weeks ago. They messed up and sent me the wrong replacement. Previously, I had a Lenovo T580 and they sent me T495 accidentally. My boss was pissed as they are supposed to send me a T590 as I am a high power user. Need it for CAD/Vectorworks stuff. Now I have this tiny screen with no number pad while working from home in the foreseeable future... Ugh...

Any meetings I have done on Microsoft Teams I have left the camera off and closed the little slider thing.

I just got the e-mail that my gun range is closing down, effective immediately, until April 7. I was usually the only one there when I've gone anyways. Oh well... Taking all of the fun away.

I’m not worried about it personally as I’m state Emp essential. And that’s why they Had to issue an “advisory” as there is no specific threat like there was during the marathon lockdown...

I've disabled mine, no tape needed. Doesn't even show up in the OS as an available device.

I'm hoping no one is enforcing stay at home. I really don't need to get pulled over half asleep at 4 am lol
