No. I'd say go for it.

I like the idea of seeing spots that not a lot of us know right away. Plus, adds to the list of places to explore.

 

Anything goes as long as you remember that the true purpose of this thread is to give @Squeaky Penguin a hard time and generally derail it whenever possible.

 

I figure any visual clues are worth chasing, and part of the fun of figuring it out... like the FSR marker in the Taylor Pass pic. There was a sign in there, too, but

I agree, looking at various maps and satellite imagery just makes people learn new places and want to explore more.

Hint #1

Here's a view of the road in question from another road that hasn't yet been played.

 

If only I didn't have to work today, I'd be all over my maps to find this. I have some ideas from the hint photo.

 

The landscape in that hint photo is amazing. Can't say it rings any bells with me.

 

Hint #2: (bad hint but interesting Colorado history fact) where I'm parked is actually a parking lot that was made for a summer ski area that operated there for a few years.

Hint #3: it's the trailhead to 2 14ers

Nope. Although I have a pic from Chihuahua that will need to be played at some point.

 

Geneva Basin Ski Area? If correct just post another because:

1) I cheated my azz off
2) No one wants to guess on the T-33 plane wreck trail in Boulder (Only pics I have left)

 

Also nope. I don't believe this ski area operated in the winter as you couldn't get there. Just a summer ski/training area.

 

See boys and Girls, cheating gets you no where. The terrain didn't really line up but I gave it a shot.

 

I think the terrain screams SW CO, but haven't figured it out yet.

 

Yep, agree. The Steepness, Color and Mine Tailings screams San Juans. Maybe Hurricane or Corkscrew pass areas, since I still haven't run them yet.
