Wouldn't it be easier to just make a mpg oriented tune for the S/C that limits your maximum throttle position to say 25 or 30%, and open the bypass

Yes, if you wanted to accept the median of the two performance levels. However, I think he wanted all the fun of 93 with the safety of 87 when hi octane wasn’t available.

Exactly. I think downside would be if I screw up pins when plugging and unplugging ECU’s. I think if I went to South America I would just remove the SC all together or do the mpg oriented route. Going up north I would go the 2 ECU route. I get a 7week sabbatical in a couple of years but we’ll see if this covid ordeal pushes me to take a break sooner.

you will wanna stay in the warm hemisphere. COVID breaks down in warm weather but this will continue to bounce back and forth between the hemispheres for quite a few years since people won’t even take the flu shots already available. Not to mention, poorer areas where measles and polio are still factors.

I feel as though the knock sensing in the trucks could compensate fairly well for what you are trying. There is a high octane and low octane timing map already in the software... not sure how it works but you could probably get crafty.

I meant after the epidemic dies off (if ever). I’m in healthcare and don’t see any time off in the near future. All vacations for the next 6 months cancelled for now.

Just trying to keep to the facts. I do hope that this will lay low come summer but too soon to say.

    From the CDC site:
It is not yet known whether weather and temperature impact the spread of COVID-19. Some other viruses, like the common cold and flu, spread more during cold weather months but that does not mean it is impossible to become sick with these viruses during other months. At this time, it is not known whether the spread of COVID-19 will decrease when weather becomes warmer. There is much more to learn about the transmissibility, severity, and other features associated with COVID-19 and investigations are ongoing.

ok, not trying to enter a global warming discussion on whose science is correct but what I spoke of before were also facts. I am not on here spreading rumors or misinformation.

It's a good failsafe on the TRD tune. My ECU pulled timing once when it thought the gas didn't have enough octane. Only noticeable at WOT. Went away after about 1/2 tank.

    I do them.

$50 flat fee, and that includes updates/support as and if needed.

Has anyone run E85 yet? Stuff is readily available here, curious how much power we’re talking.

Would likely need at least the 650cc injectors.

If I had to wager, ~20whp but that would change depending on the setup. The smaller pulley guys would see the most benefit.

I've not done any, so I'm pretty sure there isn't anyone running it currently. I'd be happy to help though.

Definitely would need 650's and adequate pump.

If you ever do decide to run the corn please make sure you test it everytime you fill up! It’s legal for them to see like only 60% ethanol which if you are tuned for 85 will give you a bad time.

800cc, Aeromotive 340LPH pump, 93 octane, no plans for E85 but was curious.

Remote tuning is awesome. Again. Asking because I was curious.

Already looking at the Pro package .

Since it's Bluetooth, can I use Torque and similar apps with it? They have Track Addict app. running a OBD Link MX Bluetooth dongle. Obviously not the same though

That's a lot of injector for a TRD blower (assuming that's what you're running).

It is bluetooth capable, but a lot of that functionality is still under development. It's got much better support with Android devices currently than it does with anything iOS (which is unfortunate for me) but it is compatible with Track Addict.

    Using an Android device currently.

Ah. Might have to try and contact them directly tomorrow about 3rd party apps. Unless anyone here has the dongle and an android device and wants to test. Theres a free version of torque if I remember correctly. OR I can send a full version to someone to test.

So I'm pretty new to HPTuners. Their website isn't very user friendly. What all would I need to buy? From the other threads I've been reading, @JustDSM is the guy to talk to about getting it tuned, but no idea what all I need to buy. Thanks!
