I bought into Norwegian at $10ish. Imma sell once we get back to about $40. Financials are good. I won't usually jump in on one like this, but I couldn't say no.

I don't know, but 10,000 people in my state just last week alone filed for unemployment. Some tied to shale some tied to food/bars. They said a typical week is about 400. It's foolish that Wall Street thinks these jobs don't matter. Our state government on the other hand is shitting rocks. I'm glad I don't work in oil that industry is boned for a while.

That's unrelated to this whole pandemic stuff though. Or only loosely related. That's thanks to SA RUS price war, that's their goal is to shut down shale, oil sands, etc and make it un-profitable for long enough that these companies shut down and can't work, then crude becomes the only source of oil, and they end the price war and jack up the price. :notsure:

unemployment numbers will definitely not be good and will have an increase, but Q1/March won't be as bad due to back-stocks, etc. Apr/Q2 is going to be a disaster. We were already told to stop all repairs for DAL. :O

How does Wall Street not think those jobs matter? It dropped 35%+ in less than a month. I think the market is taking notice.

In terms of the checks being sent out. I venture to say the boost won't be as big as they're hoping for. A lot of people will just use it to catch up on bills / staples. We have to remember the average American has trouble covering a $400 emergency.

Because people like yourself seem to think this is going to blow right over and they'll all be back to work in a matter of weeks. It's now the current investor sentiment hence the rise the last two days, like $1200 and some change is going to make it all better.

A lot of small business are likely to go out of business, small business is the backbone of America. We can't compare this to 2008 anyone who does is a fool

Believe it or not, an increase of 3.5% on the S&P 500 would end this "bear market" and begin a new bull market. Already up 16.5% from the low.

In 2008 the job losses were not immediate and direct.

In 2008 scores of businesses didn't shutdown overnight.

In 2008 The Federal government had no where near the budget problem.

In 2008 the worldwide impact on supply chains was nothing.

In 2008 we didn't have the kitchen sink thrown at the problem from all entities.

In 2008 we had a Fed rate with room to move down.

In 2008 we had no where near the amount of student loan debt.

In 2008 the bubble was housing in 2020 it's everything.

In 2008 in didn't have a worldwide impact as great as this virus.

There's no point in arguing, we obviously don't agree. I will keep investing while the market is temporarily down. You can keep... panicking?

An estimated 2.5 to 3.5 million will have filed for unemployment when the the job numbers come out thurs. How's that for a number outside the infections / deaths?

I am down over $50k this month and buying aggressively, putting my money where my mouth is. If you really believe all of the doom and gloom, you should be shorting the market.

ALl I know is back in 08 I bought a bunch of NVIDIA stock and under 10 bucks. I was stupid and sold it to pay off the last 3k on my truck at the time. Lets just say that stock is now 250$ and I'm pissed LOL. This will blow over soon I have a feeling. I bought some Airline stock and Cruise stocks. I know for a fact they'll limb up by end of the year and I'll be in good shape.
