When’s the best time to check the oil?

Just wondering when’s the best time to check the oil to get the most accurate reading?

 

i would say after most all of the oil has drained into the pan, probably before start up after sitting for awhile and the engine is cold such as in the morning
make sure its on a level surface

 

i can honestly barely reach a 2nd gen oil dipstick
4cyl fwiw

 

Also, when you are on level ground. Being on a slant will give false readings.

 

At 7:32 a.m. That is when the barometric pressure compresses the oil at zero degrees gravity.

 

Gotta do it at 6:58 am on a Tuesday, atleast thats what I’be heard
