I wish. My tattoo was supposed to be tomorrow and she's trying to reschedule me for late May :( I think I might find another artist or just wait until after we've moved. I'd like to avoid fresh ink during camping/swimming season.

We had dogs the entire time I was growing up. We would confine them to an area small enough to let them know they would get feces on them but large enough to provide a area they would in the event they had an accident. Paper was put on one side. The dog would be taught that this was the spot but it was not acceptable, and outside was. In all the dogs we had all of them go the idea quick and most would beg to go outside before they messed inside.

Today they make fake grass training pads that I would more inclined to try. Like children, today people are afraid to discipline their pets for fear of what the public thinks. My nieces dog was trained to respond to the word no when it would bite them or other things. In the summer we have it at the house at the pool because my cousin watches it for my niece on the weekend while my niece works.

The dog only nipped at me once. I bit it's ear enough to make it yelp, and pointed at it and said no. If I say no now it lays at my feet. People forget dogs are pack animals and have the instinct of primitive animals, wolves. Their goal is to survive and they do this instinctively by trying to be the alpha. With proper training and socializing (impossible right now) I have seen the most ferocious dogs changed to pussycats.

Recently we drove up to a members house to pick my tires. They have a doberman. It was one the most friendly and controlled dog I have ever seen. Why, proper training and socialization skills early on. It is also a service dog and has been since it was a year old.

    So this is my advice.......

Buy some books specifically for your breed on dog training, and always be firm, consistent and loving. You will enjoy your buddy more if they learn to respect you, your house and others. If you give up on him something along the way will go wrong and you will blame yourself and regret it.

Sadly, you are right. I think this is why we don't watch the news except to see the weather and traffic.

We watch very little news if at all. We both prefer to read it so we get the updates we need and leave the rest.
    Makes things less stressful.
