1996 Tacoma automatic, EFI with distributor.. Engine cranks and will not start, Found 30amp fuse blown in engine compartment, location AM2. Replaced fuse with new and blew that fuse as well. Snobbishly a dead short somewhere... Has anyone had this issue before? or does anyone know the circuit/components that fuse powers and protects?
    Thanks in advanced....

Yes I agree... the fuse pops as soon as I put it in... It has been running well for a few months and now this... ugh

Sounds like a dead short caused by power wire being grounded. Look for harness damage or wire insulation worn off.

    Yeah worn insulation, wires somewhere
What's on AM2 circuit? Anyone know or have a wire diagram or schematic, off hand? I'll do a search here

I've seen the screw to the AM2 come loose after a taxi shop fixed a major collision, it is possible.

I've also seen broken o2 sensor wires blow the fuse, check your exhaust.

Finally, today we had a 2018 rx350 blow the am2 fuse due to the automatic steering adjustment motor. It's a major fuse with many possibilities.

from the Toyota Tacoma manual for MY1996. The first plate is the power flow, the second and third are the details. Usually this short is inside the distributor.

That's what I was thinking after seeing other threads too. But what about when it's coil packs/distributorless?

It is just wiring... it comes down to before the ignition switch or after the ignition switch.
