Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
Dunno. I've heard of a lot of folks getting it done. It was already tinted, just an embedded tint vs a film added. I've got a warranty for another 70k miles, so we'll see...lol

    "Sunroof Shattering
Ok, let’s look at the big one. The common belief that tinting the sunroof will cause it to shatter is a myth.

All the windows around you, sides, windshield, and rear windows or hatch are composed of laminated glass. Laminated glass is a shatterproof glass designed to mesh or web on impact, creating rounded edges to prevent injury in the event of a crash. Sunroofs are composed of tempered glass that will shatter. It is designed to be more rigid than laminated glass, dispersing heat over its surface, thereby holding its shape in extreme climate conditions.

The problems occur not when it is tinted, but when pressure is applied. A good example is a recent recall by two major manufacturers. Why? The sunroofs were shattering when stressed. The natural reflex of the frame of the car taking a sharp curve or a sudden stop was putting enough stress of the sunroof to break the glass, tinted or not.

The final verdict is that sunroof tinting is not the culprit. The manufacturer’s choice of glass is."

I know that 3M will not honor warranties on sunroofs and I only use their tint. :notsure:

Side and rear windows are tempered, as well as the sunroof.. The windshield is the only laminated glass.

He had a power wagon, he said “it’s absolutely worth the money and the only con is that the seats aren’t as comfy as the dodge”

Haha awesome man, yeah the 5.0’s are sweet. It was a tough decision for me on that for sure. I want to add ceramic tint also, with just these few warmer days we’ve had lately I can already tell my head will fry in July with that cover opened up.

only thing that seems to be a nuisance is the panoramic sunroof that makes noises. Supposedly you just have to clean the tracks and lube the seals every couple of months.

mine has been tinted (carbon film) since the day after I bought it (4yrs ago) no issues. The guy who tinted it said he’s never seen a single case of a sunroof exploding. :notsure:

I have ceramic on my windshield. Haven’t had any problems either. Not sure if being laminated could cause any problems or not.

Dangit. What year PW? That’s what we have now. :(

Well, tundra too, but she’s getting some reconstructive surgery. Someone didn’t make it through the parking garage entrance.

Recent doctor appt at the hospital... Only parking spots left were in a parking garage. Clementine didn’t make it. With all of the paint I saw on that corner, many other vehicles did not fit either. Up to 5k in damage so far. 16-21 days at the shop til she’s done.

If she was lifted, height would’ve been an issue. Would’ve been double the damage.

Ryan said time for sliders and 37s with some offset wheels.

Ryan has a 16. Not very old but not the new facelift PW.

Anyone got headrest for the back of an access cab they want to get rid of? Color and condition unimportant.
