Engage 50T pack too stiff?

hey guys ive got some questions on engages 50T pack
im having them installed on my 05 access cab....
the pack looks pretty thick from what i see which means it will be pretty darn stiff=stress on the truck and me

plus these things look like they will lift my truck to the sky? which i really dont want...


can anyone give me some feedback on the best way to run this pack?

If all you do is drive on the street they will feel firm. If you like to go fast, you will love them. I have had Deaver's and the 50T pack and the capability is night and day. Mine setup with TC 12" shackles pull 19 clean inches. With 3.0x18" Radflo's I can't bottom it out. I have bumps on there, but they only see use if I do something exceptionally stupid. I have over 15,000 miles on the 50T pack and after settling they have not sagged at all. The next best thing to links for sure. As far as setup, you can change ride height with shackle length. I'm not sure if you're running the crappy stock style or traditional over the frame, but it's easy to adjust ride height if you're concern is looks. Can't be cool without bro stance, but you can go fast. Mine is 8" up stroke 10" down at ride height (measured top of axle to frame). In contrast, the Deaver's were shot in 5000 miles and they very nearly killed me once or twice. I forget who was on the run where I wheel barrowed over 30" deep whoops at 70 because the back end bucked so bad, but if you were there chime in. I bent my frame above the axle from bottoming out all the time with deaver's, and i had the super beefy H70 pack.

I love my 50t pack I don't think its too stiff at all. For me it rides pretty similar to the stock pack with an AAL. You could always remove a leaf if you think its too stiff.

 

thanks for the input man. i see your running a pretty good amount of weight in the rear, so im guessing it doesnt buck to much. how long is the process of the 50T pack settling a little lower at ride height? and how far down(about) do you think it sagged?

I may go to the 50T if this extra leaf in my DMZ pack settles much. It did raise the rear almost 2 inches but I still have a 2" height difference from front to rear. It was 4" before and thats with the coil overs at zero pre-load.

 

Even without the spares it doesn't buck, I just turn my compression screws out a few turns and I'm good to go, but the rear axle weight is 1850 lbs fully loaded, about what yours is stock. Front is around 2100 lbs, total around 4K. They settled about an inch or two, you could break them in with one weekend in Barstow or it could take 2500 freeway miles.

 

So your running an 18 inch shock?
i plan on running a 16 inch because that is all i have seen with this leaf pack setup. how do you make the 18 inch shocks work?

 

Old pic, but you get the idea. 16's are fine too, you just have to angle them a little more to get full travel. You don't really need 18's, I just wanted to run 1:1 ratio. Most guys run them outside the framerail, but I didn't want any rub on articulation because I still like to play in the rocks.

It's a little unconventional, but works good. It's now all tied into a cab and engine cage.
