I turned all that garbage off immediately in my buddy's M3, stupid thing has it on by default and it's all incredibly useless. The only one worth a damn is the blindspots monitoring and that doesn't really seem to break.

    the BSM is pretty reliable.

until someone backs into something and bends the bracket and now i have to sit there with a level and a pry bar and pray i can get it close enough to recalibrate it.

Yeah don't have to worry about that kinda stuff on his car, if someone hits it, copart gets it and he gets another. No one would elect to fix that car over a payout, too many special high dollar carbon bits and low production body panels.

Well the manual likely calls for replacement of all damaged components. But how often do customers go for that

to replace the BSM bracket you have to replace the entire inner quarter panel on most of the cars.

I prefer to write off that function instead. Never had blindspots monitors and while it was a nice little addition for a couple days, I didn't find myself waiting for their approval to do whatever I was gonna do.

Theyre easy. you CANNOT use an aftermarket window. the aftermarkets for whatever reason have lamination issues that fuck with the forward facing camera. Pilkerton aftermarket is the only one thats ok, because its literally to OEM window Ive had to tell customers multiple times to replace their brand new window with OEM because the Recal wont go through

best blind spot monitors are those little stick on fish eye mirrors.

honda has the best BSM setup. its a camera on the mirror that pops up on the headunit when you turn the turn signal.
