I'm excited to put mine on, wondering how my choice of back spacing is gonna work out, bit then again with LT it probably doesn't matter a damn anyhow

lol yeah that kind of offsets that haha

Other than having to maybe worry about UCA/spindle clearance. Surely you aren't cutting it that close though?

I can warn you about this just a bit.

You REALLY want to have the wheel and as close to a new tire as possible that is going to as close as possible to the one you're gonna run. Seriously.

Zane has a lot of wiggle room due to the LT. I don't imagine that's in your play book at least not in the next couple of years. So your dealing with fitting it in a much tighter area. And you won't want to do it twice!

8" wide wheels with 0 offset. Right now I could get away with a 35 I think, it'd rub the frame but it wouldnt touch the uca or spindle. I'm running an 11" wide tire with tons of clearance at the moment. Need to get over this virus BS so I can drop MCM a line to get that LT.

Not yet thanfully, and my work is officially protected. But at the same time it's not a great time to be buying expensive shit. Since we're having okay weather I'm just planning on cleaning my frame and prepping to weld some bracing in.

You need to get Frank ripped apart, so you can put Igor back together better. Manual trans and LT dbl cab.

    ah good.

    And good point.

That would be nice. But I really couldn't do that here haha and can't do it in powell either really cause my dads shop is a wreck since they used it as a kitchen for almost a year while remodeling the house. Can't pull any rig in there.

Manual trans, dual locked, supercharged, LT double cab. Add crawlbox and GFC and bam. Perfect 1st gen.

I still think you should come up here and we can do em together. Plus then I can send you home with a welder for your future projects.

The other thing you'll wanna check is your bumper. And might as well do something about the washer bottle now too.

We're you thinking of doing this pain in the ass project in the next month or something. I was thinking when this shit dies down a bit. Good luck tackling this with the welder that the Beverly hillbillies passed down haha

    Nice. I like it.

    Always looking!

Wasn't worried about the rear. They design all those to match the stock rear flare so lots of room. Fronts vary.

Might as well rip off all the flares too haha

Yeah I'd imagine it'll either end up not good. Or a new welder will magically be purchased haha

    Oooooorrrrr

Green truck goes into shop... Ben is ready to take his build to the next level. He's excited. Gets things read and cuts the first large hole in the driver side. After hours of work he's ready to patch the hole only to find it impossible to weld.

Not wanting to be adventure truck less while he waits to save for a new welder..the turd gen gets the rtt. Slowly the build begins. After a few months Ben finally remembers he had another truck, it's been on jack stands for so long it's become a tool shelf more than anything still with a hole in the floor board.

And thus Ben became a turd gen instalander. Like a slow disease it consumed him...all from just cutting a hole in his first gen..that he never patched.

    :D

    Okay.

    #1 - LT
    #2 - PS
    #3 - L/R Enfuse
    #4 - LR

So first off, I screwed up the Pano comparison by not using the same kind, thats why one is rounder/taller than the other.

That said, for me, the PS is clearly better as the LR one is very soft and the detail isn't there. I'm not sure why, because I have no idea wtf LR is doing to make the pano. There isn't any control and while I like the preview option in the new LR to be able to quickly see the different, this is a no go for me. I haven't tried the new version of PS yet so was still on CS6 but it was still much better looking all around to me.

For the HDR set the LR also sucks. No control over anything. I also have no idea if I tweak the 3 frame any if LR uses the tweaks or just the RAW. Enfuse uses the tweaked images and is just much sharper and not soft.

So basically I was hoping to use those two tools a lot in the new version as I like taking Panos and HDRs and I took HDR panos...but...not gonna happen. Much more control the other way and the fact the LR ones look soft is annoying. It's almost like the resolution gets stepped down.

not sure that's as apparent in the web JPEGs but is very noticeable on my work station.

All in all...disappointing. And not really worth keep the new version and falling into Adobe's damn subscription model..least not yet. Going to keep editing and trying it out to see what happens. I have 2 months free so worth a shot.

14ga steel? Thats...way to thick dude.

honestly...3 years? Seriously if that's the real time line then I wouldn't do it. Why? SO much work. I'd start a fund for the new truck, put all the money in there and put 35s on it in 3 years instead. Goes with the good ole saying "buy once, cry once".

Not to burst the mod bug bubble but...that seems to make more sense then hacking up this truck. Might as well just keep on using the crap out of it for 3 more years.

hm not a bad plan I guess.

And 14ga is too thick not because of the weld be because of forming it to fit. I tried 16ga and it was not going to happen. Think I explained that in the write up. I used 20ga to be able to form it into the space. You won't be able to bend the 14ga at all into a nice arch and bend it inwards. Not without beating the shit out of it with a hammer and then it won't ever ever ever be straight in the hole.

Plus, the body is 20ga or thinner. THAT'S your real problem with that welder and why you will really just want a MIG
