    Or the radio mount is empty and the squad leader has a handheld with a 10' whip. I never mounted antennas on the range! Got sick of my shit bags shooting them!

    You have a lot more problems if they are shooting your antennas.

    I’ve never seen range control give more then one hand held. You’re still required to have sc/pt comms with them. Not to mention, those are army dudes and the radios stay locked in the radio mounts. Also the post freq manager doesn’t give a sc/pt freq to platoons, not usually even companies. So convoys still need FH loaded for internal comms. Basic fundamentals. Train as you fight. Seems like nonsense until you have a crew that can’t even load a radio or perform basic ops.

    Lookup a PRC - 152 and I assure you no radio stays locked into a vehicle mount when not deployed. I was a live fire coyote and shooting antennas is more common than you expect. LOL.
