OEM TRD Pro Grille - #PT228-35200
OEM Pro Grille Garnish - #53141-35060
    TRD Pro Camera - #867B0-04030

    TRD Pro Grille ~$193
    Grille Garnish ~$275
TRD Pro Front Camera ~$405 (optional)
(Needing the Pro camera part depends on whether you plan to re-use your sport/OR/limited front facing camera or not. The front camera itself is the same on all Tacomas, however, the mounting bracket is unique on the Pro version. Ultimately, I decided to order the Pro Camera which includes the necessary bracket and is plug-and-play with the Pro Grille. But I think one could also make their own bracket and then re-use the sport/OR/limited front facing camera.)

All the parts are fairly easy to order, however, you will be required to provide a TRD Pro VIN# before they will sell them to you.

For me that was the best option but YMMV. My 2020 has the front facing camera so that was a challenge. None of the aftermarket grilles currently include a front camera mount. I’ve seen a couple folks here mod an older 2019 Pro model grille and make that front camera work but I was after an OEM plug-and-play quality solution so I went with the more expensive OEM parts. If you don’t have a 2020 front camera then I think the aftermarket grilles are a more attractive option.

That said, I read reports of at least some folks experiencing TSS errors with the aftermarket grille garnish part. Toyota kill you with the outrageous garnish part’s price, but I still went for it to avoid dealing with any potential errors with my TSS system.

Looks great, where did you order from? This is all I could find. Also when I put in your pro camera part number it only pulls up the rear camera. Also pro grille was $290. Def wanna know who you ordered through....

Also do you know or did anyone mention to you that the camera on the non-pro's would need to be recalibrated if used in the Pro's location? I know its almost a foot higher up from say the OR's location.

I am not going to post where I ordered from since this upgrade is technically against Toyota’s wishes, but I suggest checking several of the major online parts places for the best prices....McGeorge, BAM Wholesale, etc. I am sure you can find it as cheap if not cheaper than I did. I’ve noticed that the prices do fluctuate as well.

I actually bought the grille at $194. Missed it by $9 going off memory. ;) But obviously the “entire grille” is about $475. The garnish or “lower trim” as listed in my receipt is a required piece. It seems absurd paying $280 for a small square piece of plastic lower trim, but that’s Toyota trying to dissuade people from buying these Pro grilles for non-Pro trucks.

The part number I listed is the correct part number for the Pro Front Camera Assembly...

I doubt it would need to be recalibrated, but admittedly I didn’t test that myself because I ended up using the pro camera I had ordered. But I’ve seen some others on here re-use the camera and the pics they shared showed roughly the same onscreen view I have with the OEM parts. Moving the camera up, you just end up with a slightly different angle of view but it doesn’t really change anything about the functionality. In the Pro camera position you can no longer see the front bumper in the bottom of the screen, etc. But the blue onscreen bracket guides still line up to the correct distance and with the overhead view on my truck, etc.

But this discussion is one of the reasons I went OEM. I’m 95% sure you can re-use the cam and be fine, but I just didn’t want any doubts about camera position, trying to make my own bracket, etc. For me it was worth it to just order the OEM parts, even as painful as that was to my bank account.

So with the help of a buddy with access to a 3D printer and a bit of modifying a Taco Garage grille...

I’m very happy with this outcome considering it also saved me $800.

We are working on making it a bit better. The only issue is I had to make mounting blocks for the bracket and epoxy them to the grille, I'm not sure how many people would want to do that.

Looks great! Any chance I can buy one from you guys? Also just out of curiosity, would the raptor lights still work with that? Or does the camera take the place of one or those LEDs?

You would need to have 4 raptor lights to make it even since the camera is dead centre.

We would consider making more and selling them but the issue is the bracket is only a small part of the modification. A hole in the grille needs to be cut and you need to make and secure blocks to the grille for the bracket.

If I can a get hold of a 2020 oem pro grill will I need any other modifications except for the bracket? For example the blocks that you are talking about.

If you get an OEM 2020 TRD Pro grill, you’d just need the bracket, as you can reuse the same camera and screws. The mounting holes are already molded in to the grill, along with the camera shroud. The same hardware used for the OR camera mount can be used, except for the mount. You’ll need that.

Keep in mind this only applies to an OEM 2020 TRD Pro grill - every grill prior to 2020 doesn’t have mounded mounting holes/camera shroud.

Thanks for the info. Now it’s just getting the bracket. Hopefully somebody makes one and could sell them

Can you show us this mount? A close up of your mount? I'd seriously be interested in one if you have an extra
