Still blows my mind. When I cut the ignition off to shut the truck down my rear diff lock icon lightly flickers now that the ports are all “untaped” curious as to why. I have no rear factory diff lock button or addition, but the wiring is there.. onto the next mystery lol

Mine is complete. Thanks to everyone’s pics it made moving the handle over into the pen much easier. As well as drilling the hole. We got away with only a single 3” hole and no extra cuts fit in there like a glove.

Quick question though how are you all attaching the shifter boots? Is it just a stuff it down in the cut out and go or glue.

Yes sir. I’ll post some pics of the setup once I get back from the alignment shop and the muffler shop.

Now I just need to figure out a boot. I went to oriellys today and found a 5” round rubber boot and used some small self tapping screws and put it over the shifter base for the fj tc.

lil tidbit for when you're refilling the case, loop a bungee cord through the handle and hook it to the frame. You want the cord to be fairly tight, but only enough to pull the pump up against the tub. It's way easier to push the bottle upwards, the weight pulls it back down, and you can fill the diff one-handed. This should work just the same without a lift if you hook it in the right place.

I filled the xfer case with a beer in my other hand.

Hey Jerez! So that 3rd gen 4runner shifter worked perfect with the fj t case shift base plate? I’m looking for a t case shifter and came across this. If so I’ll be searching also for one of these. Thanks!

Oh awesome thanks! That makes my life easier and less expensive. I’m going to cut up the shifter anyways so i didn’t want to buy an expensive one.

No worries. And ya I understand I’m in the same boat hopefully this summer I’ll start the project. I’m just doing lots of research and getting things in order in the meantime.
