That's just the production screen. To make sure the "subjects" are centered.

And I can say my cell phone screen is smaller then 4x8"

For condensation just put a light piece of fabrics about 20" above your sleeping space spanning the area. The condensation will accumulate on the fabric and then you can do whatever you want with it set it out to dry in the sun or stuff it in a bag to throw in the dryer when you get home.

We used to do this all the time to prevent condensation from making our sleeping bags damp when winter camping.

Busy with paying work this weekend and the weather sucks so not a ton of camper stuff happening. I did pick up some bags for the upcoming molle panel build.

    IMG_20200111_203744.jpg
This one is a quick stash spot for the holy Trinity of personal belongings: wallet, keys, phone.

    IMG_20200111_203747.jpg
    IMG_20200111_204141.jpg
Toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, floss, tweezwrs, q-tips.

    IMG_20200111_203742.jpg
    IMG_20200111_203807.jpg
Lantern bag. Don't want to leave the lantern hanging, swinging around and smashing itself to bits. Luckily it fits in this bag perfectly. A smashed mega roll of toilet paper fits in one as well. A standard roll would fit even better.

Will likely pick up another set just like this for my wife's stuff. I'll see how this all fits in the space I have.

Considering making two Klean Kanteen holders out of leather for the front interior corners of the camper. Nice to have water at hand at night in case you get thirsty! Maybe I'll get an off-the-shelf pouch/cage too. Not sure...

I've got a buddy of mine machining a couple of simple aluminum bars to mount the ladder. I'm hoping those are done sometime this week. Would be awesome to get the ladder mounted this weekend...assuming it's not pouring down rain.

Sloooowly working on the ladder mount.

    IMG_20200125_100043.jpg
Aluminum bars machined to my specs.

    IMG_20200125_100101.jpg
They go here. Mark some holes...

    IMG_20200125_175510.jpg
    Drill and tap...

    IMG_20200125_175451.jpg
Bolt into place with stainless bolts and washers, of course.

These bars will slide right up under the flatbed and bottom out while exposing just enough ladder to get the job done. Next is the somewhat tricky part of drilling the holes in the end of the aluminum bars and matching those up with holes that need to be drilled in the side rail of the bed and the frame rail of the bed. Ive started making a little wooden jig for that. The idea is the bars will be held in place by bolts through the bed in to the end of the aluminum block. Not ideal for really heavy duty applications but I think it's plenty strong for my purposes. The shear strength of 6mm stainless bolts is plenty high for this. I could go to two 6mm bolts per end but then you don't have a lot of aluminum around each bolt. I could also go up to an 8mm bolt in each end. I may do that.

Are you going to wrap the rungs with grip tape? Would help you if its wet out to not slip and break a leg.

The steps have plastic bits over them but they will only really work for fore-aft traction, not side to side. Ill see how it works as is then decide if removing the plastic steps and adding grip tape is a better idea.

Yeah I noticed the rubber pieces but they look like they might rotate underfoot.

    Finally got the ladder installed!

    IMG_20200202_132817.jpg
Started with some drilling and tapping...

    IMG_20200202_140514.jpg
Then I bolted the shiny rails up under the bed.

    IMG_20200202_142131.jpg
Then I bolted the ladder in place!

    IMG_20200202_142144.jpg
    IMG_20200202_142150.jpg
    IMG_20200202_142156.jpg
    There it is!

It flexes quite a lot when I step on the lowest rung but I don't plan on jumping on it so I think it'll be okay. Could also be a hint to lose the 40-50 lbs I could stand to lose. :D :sadviolin:

Did a little impromptu overnighter out at the coast. It was awesome to see how easy it was to just toss and go rather than having to really think about what to bring and consider the weather and all that stuff.

    IMG_20200209_085750.jpg
The new ladder works pretty well. I'm glad I made the switch!

    IMG_20200208_190142.jpg
A little full moon Astoria bridge action. I really need to get better about photo composition...and subject...and lighting...basically everything.

    A little fort Stevens action.

Overall, a nice quick trip. Nice to use the camper again. Now back to the list of stuff to get done!

I agree! I have a lot more plans for this year too! This quick trip was my wife's idea. She came in the house and said "pack your clothes, the camper is ready. We're going to the coast". Haha, who am I to argue?

How much finish work have you been able to get done with the current shutdown? Or are you "essential" :)

That's a good question. I haven't been doing much of any hobby work. Lots of other things going on in life the last couple of months. Non-COVID related. I've been working full time which is nice. I can do my entire job from home so I've been doing that. And, on top of that, the company I work for is deemed essential based on our clientele. I should be getting after hobby stuff, I just haven't felt like it.

Here's what I've been up to:

Got the newly rebuilt suspension put back on my 250 dirt bike
Got a blade on my portable band saw
Started messing with my rear bumper reinforcement project for the truck
Did a lot of sewing repair on my dirt bike armor in an effort to get at least another season out of it (11 seasons so far!!)
Revamped some of my moto-camping gear.
    Replaced a toilet mounting ring
Got new stairs and a new front porch poured in concrete at the house

So, I haven't done NOTHING but it's pretty close. Any day now, I'm sure I'll fell like getting after some project and finishing it. I'd like to get the inside of the camper a little more finished out and get the rearview camera system done but both of those require non-essential travel to businesses that are probably shut down anyway. I really should get my CAD files ready though so I can get it knocked out as soon as we get back to normal.

    How is everyone else doing?
