Oil change thread???

I have found a thread on everything except a "how to" on a basic oil change.
I figured it would be linked in the how to area of the mods thread but I didn't see it.
A search didn't help either.
SO am I just missing something and can't find it or is it so basic no-one has done a write-up.
Mostly just looking to see if anything extra had to be done to get to the oil pan plug or if there were any hints or tips on how too's.

The 4.0 taco is probably the easiest vehicles to do an oil change on. Takes 1.3 minutes.

 

Ask your boyfriend for help then.

 

Please show the tutorial on how you open 6 quarts of oil and poor them into the engine along with changing the filter in 1.3 minutes and I will. But since you can't do that I will just ignore your comment.
Oh I forgot to add the draining of the oil to that.
So lets see your 80 second oil change.

 

Honestly if I cant find something in the search bar on here, I'll just search it on google and 90% of the time a TW page will be one of the first results.

 

its not that hard lol. drain oil replace filter put the plug back in fill oil done.

 

Takes more than 1.3 minutes to clean up the spill from the inverted oil filter...

 

clean? We don't do that here.

 

Just make sure you don't drain the transmission accidentally. It's been done a lot here.

 

LOL. Going to get to that next and may do it at the same time but thanks for the heads up. Putting an extra 6 quarts in the engine and running on an empty tranny might make for a catastrophe.

Correct. I was looking to see if I needed to remove anything to get to what I needed. The oil change part was not in question it was access to the drain plug I was mostly interested in. And thanks to the members here I also found out about the filter drain hole and how not to make a mess.
I could have jumped under there and done it without this knowledge and done it just fine but would probably not have seen that drain port and leaked oil on the engine.
It's always best to ask before diving into something. Sometimes you can't see the rocks under the water.

As to my moniker. I have done everything from Aircraft electrician working for Lockheed to ASE certified mechanic at my own shop. I've fixed every type of equipment in restaurants from under the floor to on the roof. I built and installed satellite systems back when the dishes were 12' and larger. I could add more to the list but you get the idea.
So before I crawl under my rig I want an idea of what I actually have to do rather than guess. For all I knew the skid plate may have had to be removed or worse.
