I have a factory rack for sale, you just would need to find the two yellow clips that are for the front of it

But....I bought a OEM rack, and before installing it i changed my mind to the Hookeroad rack on Amazon.
It had a couple of little hiccups but for $280.00 it csnt be beat and is really solid.

I have one for sale, it's just missing the two yellow plastic clips for the front. You would have to find that

I would go OEM, I purchased a knock off for my second gen and had so many problems with it that I ended it literally throwing it away and spending the extra cash on oem. I did the same for the 3rd Gen. The OEM fits in so much better and easier and believe me when I say you will notice a difference in quality. Either that or go with a prinsu or something like that.

I purchased a knock off and after a year, the HW was rusted out completely. I'm lucky it came off.

That being said, the OEM costs are prohibitive vs. the return. Aftermarket is a better spend when you see the limitations of the OEM.

I was originally going to install the OEM rack from Toyota but purchased an aluminum Prinsu copy instead (Martin Cab Rack). It’s much sturdier than the plastic OEM rack and less expensive than a Prinsu. Great rack and highly recommended.

Question, would the OEM Roof Rack support a Spare Tire (265/75r16 E Load approx 70lbs) and a set of Max Traxs (approx 16lbs)?

I should of done the same thing I had two kayaks that were well within the 100 lbs limit, going down the freeway and the OEM roof rack snapped. Luckily Noone was behind me and no damage to anyone. Very disappointed in Toyota quality as it is a oem part that I paid a lot of money for. Should of gone prinsu.

some FYI - I just installed Thule set on the roof of my '19 Tacoma . I carry a Ocean Kayak Prowler 15 with no problems at all. If you are considering carrying a Kayak, this is a solid solution. I did have the Toyota's swing blades OEM on a 2016. I prefer the roof clearance and weight load of the Thule

Yikes! Which part snapped on what types of kayaks, and how did you load and secure them?

The driver part of the roof rack in the rear, where it pivots. They are 6 foot kayaks, held down with straps. The pivot point was cut in half. They were facing front to front of truck, everything held, it was just that part that snapped like a twig, Kayaks weigh about 45 lbs each.

Man, I'd go back to Toyota for a replacement rack and get some help with any damage that the failure inflicted. They shouldn't fail like that if they're installed properly and aren't damaged.

    No. Not in any way.

The OEM is trash for aesthetics. Whatever it is rated for be it 75 or 100 lbs is still not safe.

Ok, thanks, I suspected that, but saw one for a good price, I think I’m going to go with the Martin Foundation Rack.
