You don't have to level it up unless you plan on playing Trials (or when IB comes back). Everything is levelized in regular Crucible. I wouldn't waste the core unless it remains a dominate gun in the Crucible for quite a while.

If you didn't like the Hand Cannon meta you are going to hate this. It still requires map knowledge and movement around the map. Keeping yourself out of harms way all while putting yourself into an advantageous position to get the kill? Good luck. With the non stop spam firing that is going on in the game? It's no fun. I can change with the meta pretty easily since I've seen this type of thing happen a shit ton in the past. It is what it is. But when it changes to a meta such as this? My Crucible play drops off significantly. When you have a bunch of no skill players running around just holding the trigger down? It's just no fun.

I went to equip an auto last night when I went into control and I didn't even have one in my slots to equip. Since the Luna and Service Revolver, I've been running either Luna/Bygones or Service Revolver/Claws of the Wolf. Been pretty happy with those set ups.
I finally start figuring out weapon pairings and they fucking change on me

Actually it was opposite. Once you showed me a couple tricks to the hand cannons I fucking loved it. Now it changed :annoyed:

Don't take this the wrong way... but the pairings that you mention make absolutely zero sense??? A Hand Cannon and a Pulse Rifle? That makes no sense whatsoever? Not trying to be a dick but I would (and I have) destroy you if that's the setup you were running. Hand Cannon / Shotgun / Sniper / Fusion. That is the only thing that should ever be paired with a Hand Cannon. A Pulse Rifle? What was your plan? Shoot at range and then try to take them down with a Hand Cannon as they got closer? Anyone that has any knowledge about how to counter a Pulse would never just rush at you. You had zero chance up close to counter a shotgunner. That setup kind of baffles me if I'm honest.

If running a Hand Cannon you have to play aggressively (which you don't). That's why I play so aggressive with a Sniper. If I missed a head shot I could finish them off with a Hand Cannon shot. I play a Sniper like a Shotgun. But on smaller maps I'd run a Hand Cannon / Shotgun. I'm hoping Comp (and Trials) remain the same. If not? It will suck for a while.

I run shotgun as well depending on the map but I was in two long range maps last night so thats what I tried out. Worked pretty well, wasnt top of the leader board but then again I rarely am.

Joined a Trials post on the100.io yesterday. It was set to start at 8:00pm my time. Got a message from the guy that set it up asking if I'd like to go in earlier. "Sure!". So I grouped up with them at about 5:30pm and it was a father and son duo. My immediate thought was "this isn't going to go very well". The father was older than I am. We went into a few elimination matches before jumping into Trials and I got quite a few kills and we won a few games. But... I'll be damned if they weren't good. The father sniped just as well as I did and his son was damn good also. They told me they had been looking for a third for quite a while now since they have a very small clan and those in that clan either can't play PvP or don't want to play.

So... we went into Trials. Got our ass handed to us for quite a while. Destroyed my K/D but whatever. I will tell you this... If you aren't using the Hard Light? Don't even bother don't even bother going in. Hand Cannons have no place in Trials (at least on Burnout) now. Fucking no skilled weapons that just shots laser beams everywhere. What a terrible way to bring back Trials. So I ran Hard Light and Revoker the entire time. Finally got a groove on after resetting our card multiple times. Went back in and lost the first match. We were running the boon that forgave the first loss but you really don't want to use that until your final game in the card if you possibly can. So we were already at a point we had to win 7 without losing. I guess we ended up with getting grouped against the right teams because the final card went by in less than an hour.

So, Flawless the very first day. Now I have another good team to play with on top of our regular team.

    Flawless Emblem

Since there are no more "Adept" weapons the only perk that isn't found on any other weapon in the game is Celerity

The Scholar Scout Rifle out of the Chest

The other two Scholar Scout Rifles that I got from turning in the tokens

    Trials Rocket Launcher

Trials arms. Dropped as Void wich was perfect since it has the Sniper mods on them

The armor looks cool as shit. Hope I'm able to get a full set this season.

And here is a breakdown of the weapons being used in Trials this weekend. If you aren't using the Hard Light? You are putting yourself at a disadvantage unfortunately.

    Yeah.
That is cool (playing with a father/son team, not the Hard Light thing).

Yeah, they are really cool and I'm glad I met them. Super chill guys. Great with the callouts and don't get rattled which is EXACTLY what you want in a Trials team. They messaged me this morning and we had planned on playing some Trials this morning to see if the sweats were asleep. But they ended up oversleeping and I didn't wake up until noon since I didn't sleep last night. So we just fucked around in Elimination this evening. I've reset my card and I like that there are bounties everyday that Trials is active. And I like being able to reset your card anytime you want. Now if we could just get out of this Hard Light meta. But it is what it is. Play the meta until it changes.

A guy a met a while back when I was going for the Not Forgotten messaged me a couple days ago and wanted to join the clan so I invited him in. I was about to get off for tonight and he asked if I could help him get two wins in Comp for the drops so I said sure. I love Elimination. We played about 10 games of Elimination tonight but there wasn't a third on that wanted to play Trials so we just played around in that game mode. I'm trying to decide if I want to go for 5500 this season or not? I would like to get the Unbroken title but I'd have to hit 5500 this season and then again next season. The issue is, there's no incentive for hitting 5500 since they didn't drop any Pinnacle weapons this season. So I'm having a hard time trying to find the motivation. I got to 5296 solo last season but ended having to enlist the help of two others in the100.io Public LFG. Finally got grouped with a couple of guys that were PvP gods and they carried me over the 5500 mark. I was hovering in between 5000 and 5300 so that lets me know what my personal skill level is in the game. I can compete with the top tier players but I can't compete solo with the top tier players. That said... I moved up over 2500 tonight in Comp. So I don't know? I might end up accidentally doing it anyway. We'll see?

Fuck... last night sucked in Trials. I mean Trials was fun and I love Anomaly. But we didn't find out until later that something with the reset affected Trials and the reward system. You are supposed to get rewards at 3, 5, and 7 wins but they weren't dropping. Turns out that it won't be patched until 5pm my time this evening. So we ran 18 cards before going Flawless and I only got one Auto Rifle and one Shotgun. The chest is still working fine for going Flawless but for some reason some people are getting rewards like they should at 3, 5, and 7 and some aren't. We're going to run it for the rewards tonight just to try and get better rolls.

Auto Rifle with Arrowhead Brake (which is nice), Overflow (which isn't unless you're using it in PvE), and Rampage which is great.

This is now the best Shotgun in the game. Rifled Barrel which is great, Assault Mag which is also great, Field Prep which isn't, and One Two Punch which is okay... It's great for getting your melee to do more damage. So hit with the Shotgun then melee and it's an instakill. Range doesn't matter on Shotguns with the adjustments that were made this season. Pretty much anything inside of 8 meters you will one shot with an aggressive frame shotgun. Anything outside that range you won't.

Got lucky and got this as a random drop. Spike Grenades are great and it deals a fuck ton of damage. Better than a Rocket Launcher in Crucible since you only get one rocket.

The Chest piece is dropping this week. Not a bad roll and I'm happy with it.

The only thing I wish is I could bring up my Discipline so I could get my Grenades faster. But it would take away from my Resilience and I'm not willing to do that. Especially in Trials where Power Level matters. I'm not too worried about the Mobility since all I ever use are the StompEE's. My dodge comes back fast enough that I don't have to worry about maxing it out. Other than that... I'm pretty happy with the stats.

FUCK JOTUNN AND ANYONE THAT USES IT. Besides the Colony and Telesto I have absolutely no use for anyone that uses a no skill weapon in the game. You are trash and I hope you never make it to the Lighthouse. If you are using Jotunn... I seriously doubt you actually will make it to the Lighthouse since it is almost 90% a trade and you are doing your team no favor by using it. This is what happens when I get pissed of at people that use Jotunn. I will headhunt you into the ground.

This was the first card after they updated the system that wasn't allowing weapons to drop for some. These are the first two games of the match on the way to Flawless again. We had one guy that we carried through since he was pretty severely under leveled. But we were able to get his first passage ever.

Best way to play Anomaly is to play one Sniper and two Shotguns. If you run up against a team running two (or even three) snipers then they are either:

1: Extremely proficient at Sniping and you better stay out of the sniping lanes.

2: They are dumb for running two or three Snipers as all you have to do is close the gap and overrun them with the Hard Light and Shotguns. We found the latter to be true with the exception of a few times late in the card. When you have multiple snipers on the other team you just rush them and they are forced to use their primary and they can't compete with two rushing Shotgunners.

Sorry the mics weren't enabled for the other two in my team. I forgot to tell them to turn them on for recording. One other tip I would recommend is to turn your settings to appear offline so you won't be receiving in game messages. The messages come up and block your radar and that is the very last thing you want in Trials.

After the first two matches we take a break. Then after the next two matches we take a quick break and so on. I feel that is key. It's a stressful playlist and it takes a mental tole on you. So it's best to take a breather after a couple of matches. I hear all the time that if you are on a roll to keep playing but in my experience, that is when you start making mistakes. Take a quick break. Stretch, go take a piss, get a drink, etc... You will come back ready.

I missed the first part of the first match since I forgot to hit record before each match. But as you can tell by my reaction... Fuck Jotunn and fuck anyone that uses it. I had just taken a trade from one. So it did that person no good to use that gun when he could be using a weapon that actually requires skill and possibly survive the gun battle. You'll see how it plays out for him. And you'll also see why Trials is so hard and high stakes. This is what it takes to play at a high level and be able to communicate with your team. Only the best play in this mode. And only the best of the best get to go Flawless.

So with Trials out of the way this weekend (don't know... might play a few more matches is someone wants to be carried or an account recovery) I've decided to go ahead an go for 5500 this season.

Here is a video of me and one of the guys that I played with to 5500 last season. The other guy is being carried as you can tell by the score. So I'll finish 5500 this season and then 5500 next season for the Unbroken title. The hardest title to get in the game.

This is how you have to communicate in the game to succeed.

I have literally done nothing but play PvP this season with the exception of running Pinnacle rewards for the power upgrade. I haven't done any of the Rasputin things to level up anything for the weapons or the armor. I just don't care about it. I do like the fact that they made this season more in depth but it just doesn't interest me personally. I'll run the Raid, Dungeon, 980 NF, the Master Nightmare Hunts, etc... for the pinnacle drops but other than that? I don't care. Every powerful drop is dropping at 1000 for me now and every weapon and armor piece is sitting at 1000 or above for me so there is no use in running anything else. Crucible is where you go to level your season pass fast. You can run bounties in PvE but it takes forever. Crucible levels it up dramatically after each match whether you win or lose. I'll run IB starting tomorrow for the Pinnacle drops but I'm really starting to hate running 6's. With the return of Trials, 6's fucks up your game so all I concentrate on is running 3v3. The guy in the video above and I practice almost everyday so we can stay sharp for when Trials comes back each weekend. It's also nice since we will hit 5500 this season and next season to get the hardest title in the game. PvP has needed an end game activity for a very long time. There was no reason to play PvP (unless you just really like it) as there were no rewards that would help you out. The loot pool was so small, you just ended up sharding everything you got. But now with the return of Trials, it gives those that love PvP an incentive to play and play often. Trials is like a Raid but only harder. Once you figure out the mechanics of a Raid, it just becomes muscle memory and therefore becomes no challenge. Trials is always different as you are playing actual people on the other team with different strategies. So it is never the same thing twice. Add to that... It is the most stressful game mode in the game. But being able to compete with the top players in the world? That actually feels like an accomplishment as opposed to just going through the motions of running the Raid where it becomes mundane.

Well... since we are in a shelter in place condition I've turned Destiny into a profitable business. Iron Banner returned today and I ran 5 carries for people to get the bounties done along with the quest. $50 a carry. I ran one account recovery last night for Trials and made another $50 off of that run. So $300 in one day and I have a stack of carries set up for tomorrow. I played for 13hrs today getting everyone their items. On top of that, I also get the rewards (when I'm not doing an account recovery) so it works out great for me also.

This was the last carry tonight and I just finished it for a guy with the gamertag of waterwell20ft so he got all of his items. I made a few mistakes but after 13 hrs I'm tired. The other team had a person that had gone Flawless so I knew it would be a close match. Got out of some pretty sticky situations and I know the other team had to be pissed. I don't play control like you should. I rarely cap a zone. I'm better at taking out the other team before they can cap a zone.

Last match of the day. Time for some sleep.

Couldn't agree more. Zero respect for anyone that uses a no skill weapon. I feel guilty enough that I have to use Hard Light right now.

If you don't have the catalyst finished on it. I would highly recommend doing so. I don't remember when I got it done because I never use Hard Light (at least not until now). But it completely maxes out the stability and becomes an absolute laser. Go into the Leviathan and just sit in the first room and kill Cabal over and over and over and over and Jesus Christ you will be sick of it. But that is the fastest way to get the catalyst done.
