You make a good point; but it's only tough if you haven't trained yourself to be proficient. I've been carrying it that way for nearly 20 years now while buckled in a cruiser. I've been fortunate to have had opportunities to train and become proficient in that type of a draw. I don't disagree with anything you guys have said, only thing that matters is you're safe and it works for you.

Assuming you're right handed: Use your right hand to release the belt and clear it out of the way, then post your left leg to the floor board and twist your weapon side hip is counter clockwise clearing the buckle area of the belt as you release the weapon and draw with your strong hand. Take some practice, but certainly manageable.

FR Diff fluid change on the truck I bought with 255,000. It looked pretty clean, but there was about half the volume that should have been there. Good news is it has manual lockouts, so the FR Diff shouldn't have been turning much, and also the truck came from SE Tennessee and was not modded. I suspect very little 4x4 usage.

BTW, I went to the car wash and cleaned the under area after the fluid change. Just couldn't stand that sludge. FR seal is leaking. Gonna do it next timing belt/water/oil pump change.

This appears to be where the leak is coming from, thought it was oil at first but the red tint and water like consistency points to coolant, or maybe ATF from the power steering? I'm inclined to think coolant considering the water pump was just replaced.

    MVIMG_20200326_150220.jpg

Both the coolant and PS reservoir levels are normal as of right now

Edit - meant to post this on the other thread, backstory is that my timing belt and WP just got replaced and today I noticed what I believe to be a coolant leak. The shop that did the work is going to look at it tomorrow but just thought I'd see if anyone here might have insight

I've read about those Walbros. It is interesting that they are noisy. I wonder why URD recommends them.

The Aeromotive cannot be heard. I have no idea if that will change with time. We'll see.

YASSSS. But moving the air vents down and putting the screen higher would be even better!

Or at least 3D scan it and post the plans somewhere for us to 3D print and do it on our own...

Yea I got it with the URD kit, it's been whiny since day one but only when it gets hot. On a long summer wheeling trip it'll scream to where you can hear it loudly in the cab with the windows up. Been like that for 3 years now, according to Gadget it's just how the Walboro pumps are.

I agree though, I don't know why he includes them with the kit when there are other (quieter) options. It may be normal but it's still annoying

much simplier than that. That is the oil pan dipstick tube. Probably just loose. Loosen the bolt up high on the top end of it near where you remove the dip stick then give it a love tap to reseat it. Mine did that really badly after I moved it for the supercharger install and leaked out most of the oil in the engine on a road trip.

Could also replace the gasket but I'd imagine you'd have to make one work or order a new tube from toyota.

340lph? Probably not..looks too small to be.

What I put in the SX. LOT of miles on it now and still totally silent.

Oh nice! Your install is better than mine. I for whatever reason had to mod the bottom seat of the hanger.

And yeah that number is 340 liters per hour. Which is a LOT. The walbro that URD recommends is only 190lph haha I think stock is like 120 tops maybe? Not sure honestly.

Not sure if I’ll sell these. It’s been many hours of work but I’ll think about it. This weekend I will hopefully finish this piece and can write a build thread for people to use as a reference if they want to make their own.

I thought about the screen up where the vents are and then the vents under the screen. I might try it with the stock one I still have when I finish this project. I would have to reroute the air vents and where the ducting sits inside the truck to fit a double din there would be a tight fit and the air vent would lose a lot of flow. An iPad kit installed there would make that an easier job so the interior of the truck would not need to be modified.
I don’t have access to a 3D scanner, if I did I would have scan the original piece and this job would have been a lot easier. If anyone in Oregon has a quality scanner lets talk.
