Sounds like Ranger Watson is a bit of a dick. Did he make a public statement that might alter my opinion?

Not really. The termination letter may be read in its PDF form and for the most part, it's an attempt to stifle disagreement by limiting what the signatories can say (1A). So as long as you support them, you're all good. Personally, it feels like the agreement was written not by the Forest Service.

That's a telling letter. If I had a volunteer group that was accusing my organization of stealing and spreading other inflammatory information, I would terminate the agreement too. There's no way any reasonable people would get rid of free labor and an amazing resource like SOTS, unless there were some egregious mistakes being made. Looks like SOTS needs to change their tone if they want to continue the relationship.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Hopefully they can come to a mutually agreeable resolution.

As for volunteer groups like SOTS, in my experience, there is no better resource than mountain bikers and recreational vehicle users for trail maintenance.

The only issue in my mind is one of free speech. Any organization is not allowed to speak negatively if they disagree with direction, proposals, etc.. Especially when it comes to the government.

The claims are a little inflammatory but then again, what isn't when it comes to environmental issues?

Our freedom of speech can get us banned here. The point is, what we say can build us bridges or dig our own grave. They could have created a more eloquent dialogue.

The key will be when you get the bumper back on. That's when you find out how well you did.

They're two different scenarios. TW is a private website with rules you and I agree to. And while it's true you catch more flies with honey, speaking out against the government is protected speech.

So a white truck with five letters on it gave me a box today. There's a breathing tube for my tacoma inside!
    Yay! Now the retrofit begins.

And they can go on doing so. That freedom hasn’t been curtailed at all. But don’t confuse freedom of speech with privileged access. If they wish to risk the loss of privileges unavailable to the general population they are free to do so.

Depending on which bumper you get, that looks too low for high clearance bumper. I did something similar. I cut low and then put on the bumper and then cut again and then put the bumper back on again and then see if it needs more triming.

    my story reads as:

Drink beer before you cut, then it doesn’t matter if it’s straight or not. Then get someone who isn’t blind and drunk recut it for you when you get a new bumper...

read: I drank 2 Coors light. I’m a cheap date. Plus, I rarely drink at all. I needed the alcohol courage to make the first cut...

Well wife got home from work and we took a drive.
Ended up in Greenville at mountain valley pizza. Bit of a drive but nice to just go anywhere in The mountains.

Especially mountain bikers, it sucks because we are constantly losing trails and get into more trouble than we should because the horses tend to hate and the people don't like us either because "we ride too fast" or too close. :( Therefore bikers do more trail work and upkeep than the proportional amount of people or horses in my area.

Crazy but I've been the horse people the mt bike people and now again the ohv trail people. really dont matter what crowed they always talk shit about the next guy. In my area there's been 29 USFS "ROADS" completely taken out and 33 trails closed. not sure why or how but I was offered a job doing those jobs by a local casino. I won't say what casino but they have several beers a brewery and are in Oroville.
I refused that job for a few AMERICAN reasons. Won't say here. But yeah bottom line is it really dont matter if it's to Get closed then fuck the people no matter where they are or what they do.

Very sad when trails and roads are being closed. We just need to take the number of people who are having more children than they should down. Maybe less roads and trails would close for building neighborhoods.
