I almost started doing things I normally do on Fridays yesterday. Was about to go pick up some beers for after work. Glad I wasn't the only one!

I think it’s great news that BA doesn’t immediately want stimulus money! The rest of the market doesn’t seem to think so though haha

No but lesson learned I'll be putting some into it when the market is quiet from now on!

Define "buy the VIX". How precisely?

VIX to me seems more like gambling than the broader market. Maybe because I am just unfamiliar with it?

It pretty much is, it's just an index that measures volatility. You could buy it in good times (low volatility) and sell when things get bad (high volatility). Or, you might be able to short it now and cover when things return to normal. It's gambling, but strategic because everyone knows it will spike eventually.

Yeah buying that ETN and hanging and selling at precisely the right time.............wowser............ nuts of titanium

Nice to have grabbed even a few hundred in Feb. LOOK at that chart!

I do it differently. I buy and sell bull and bear ETF's. More as insurance. Market down 4% today. I'm down less than 1%.

It looks like a Friday once again with the market dropping. Next week is the end of the month and end of the quarter so that could get ugly as well. And if they don't pass the virus bill (it's not a stimulus bill like so many people keep saying) that could lead to a bigger drop.

better keep your eye on the egg shortage. Could cause a spike in eggnog price and volume of sales could plummet. These are unusual times o_O

Maybe this eggnog situation is why WMT and TGT have held up relatively well..

He seems like a huge douche, but I am not sure his interview made the market do anything. It was already tanking, and most people seem to think he's just an idiot. He sure did try to crash it though.

    This says a LOT:

"The hedge-fund billionaire turned a $27 million position into $2.6 billion through defensive hedge bets, a Wednesday letter to investors said. The profit offset losses elsewhere in the firm's portfolio and helped Ackman's public fund land a 7.9% gain in March through Tuesday's close, The Wall Street Journal reported. The S&P 500 slid 17% over the same period."

Yup, he made a ton. I just don't think his interview was the cause of the tanking (a lot in the media seem to think so though). He comes off as one of those people who think they are a lot more important than they are. I laughed at his interview, it was so extreme there's no way anyone was influenced by it.

He also has a punchable face (I stole that from some comments on a Daily Mail article).

Placed an order at 12.20 for NCLH. I figure I can buy back in at that price after selling at 16.99 lmao. They’ll be fine. Sure they won’t go out of business. Uncle Sam will probably step in eventually even if they haven’t in this previous package.

Edit: Just a small order though. I’m still cautious.
