TacoBuffet. I hope you don't mind me asking but you seem incredibly knowledgeable about the various Tacoma trims and buying strategies. I am clearly not. If you drove 80% of the time on the road and 20% off the road in what I would call trails but not extreme overland situations, would you opt for an SR5 over the Off Road? My thinking would be to upgrade the shocks if I got the SR5 and that would be a better value than the Off Road. I would be curious to get your opinion on that if you don't mind.

Sr5 is plenty capable for that. TRD-OR will have better resale value. It’s a toss up. I’d get the TRD-OR for the extra features and manual trans option

Thanks for the thinking here. Much appreciated. I end up saving a fair amount that way. Still trying to run the numbers but it could be fairly substantial. I am not worried about resale since I will keep it forever (currently have a 2005). Since this is a weekend driver not sure I need the extra features but in your opinion which ones do you think would be crucial. I do love the idea of a manual but in NY it would kill me in our traffic. :)

Just got a call from the dealer notifying me the factory will be building my configuration of truck on June 29. It's a good thing I'm not in a hurry!

Lol, no prob bud. So I actually had a few SR5s. If you don't care about some of the standard stuff that comes with a TRD (proximity keyless entry, rear locker, qi charger and a few little things like that) than the SR5 is all you'll ever need, especially if you plan on gutting the suspension anyways. For me only reason I don't have an Sr5 is I like all my premium options, lol. But as @e30saam pointed out you'll save money going the Sr5 route.

Gotta put a plug in for just going with the SR then. Reason being is that a lot of the little upgrades, keyless entry, intermittent wipers that you got with the SR5 now come with the SR at least with the SX pkg and for less $, no foglights though but the kits are less than 100$. Might be worth looking into in more detail . GL with whatever way you go.

Wow when did you put your order in originally? I put in for a loaded OR 6MT about a month ago, and they expected 6-8 weeks before it would be in. I really hope it doesn't take that long...

You're not really putting an order in for a truck to be built. They look for trucks in the assembly line that meet your requirements. Yours must be more common or nearer to end of production.

February 6 is when I ordered it. I suppose with everything that's going on with factories shutting down, the delivery dates got pushed out quite a bit. Since I already drive a 2004 Tacoma, I'm not in dire need of the new truck. Yet. ;-)

Yeah I realize but still thinking about a rough estimate.

Also what I ordered is a loaded OR truck (basically all options - Premium + Advanced Tech and LED upgrade) with the manual transmission. I'm guessing not tons of those around!

I also have a 2019 already, so definitely not worried about it breaking down anytime soon!

Doubtful, betting that’s a bare bones OR. You have a strange obsession with the LED package, its $485 dude, just factor it in to whatever you're looking at.
