Alright went for my first drive. About 10 miles of highway/surface streets. Flashed the superfob 2.0 regular gas tune. I love the tip in, very responsive. Also extremely smooth shifts, I was quite impressed. On the highway after like 70, I heard what I thought was type of fluttering engine noise. Does does "full otto" change how the truck sounds by chance? Really happy overall, considering flashing to the premium gas version if the performance is better.

Some '19s have 04B40 factory calibration and some have 04B41. AFAIK there's no TSB or way to update from one to the other. Only Toyota or Mat could tell you what the differences are.
My truck was built in May of '19 and I have 04B41.

    Orange racer,
I agree with you, but I've been running the Super FOB 91 version for about a month now. I noticed the fluttering at about 2000 rpms from the first drive too. It only seems to happen at an aggressive 2k rpm though... Overall, that is my only worry about 2.0. Otherwise, I love the growl when I can overlook the fluttering that I think could be the fuel injectors priming up...

I have been running super fob for the last three tanks.

At 2k rpm to 2.5k is an annoying sensation both while accelerating and cruising with light throttle.

Matt said it was likely a vvti change over point there.

I'm considering trying the base version and seeing how that does. Overall that is my only complaint and the smoothness shifting now and the power above the 2500 rpm point is so much better than stock.

That 1 complaint is way down from the factory calibration complaints.

The vf tuner is tempting for me as i love to tinker with things i don't understand so that i can understand them more. That process has gotten me to a good point in life so far.

I'm curious if anyone has noticed after installing this tune , if the self cleaning injectors still cycle? Or is this feature turned off now with the tune. Been running SuperFOB premium for about 500+ miles and have yet to hear the injectors cycle and do their cleaning thing at idle.

Mine definitely did it when idling after tune install.

I have not noticed the 2K Flutter

Major bummer. I had the tuner in my cart yesterday and I was just itching to pull the trigger. Check this morning to the "major bombshell." @OV, sorry for everything that's going on. To OV and everyone else, one of my buddies is OV tuned to 2.0 and has the hardware for it. Would it still be possible for me to purchase a license (once things are starting to return to normal) and still be able to use his hardware to flash my truck to 2.0?

One more question. With the new VF tuner, can I take one of the "suggested" tunes and just stick to it, and have it be like OV 2.0? Don't know much about tuning, data logging, and that's why I liked the idea of OV Tune so much. Dump the factory ECU contents and have something that's damn near perfect.

@vFTuner should hire you for SuperDuper Tech Support. :D

Lemme just say that working from home is about as fun and distracting as I remember it from about 13yrs ago. At least I can work out my frustrations over idiot coworkers with a pint of porter.

I know a lot of folks who can do it and prefer it.

Me, it's like anything but work is a squirrel that wants chased.

Worse, every time a great tune comes on and I crank up the jams, I am getting yelled at or a nasty text. :frusty:

I don't think we want OVT to sink under that kind of weight. I'm like an anchor. :tinfoilhat:
