Call state park and county park offices. Even better, go online and find out.

My only concern is that people do what they can to stay safe,. Not only for themselves as hospitals are no longer a sanctuary away from virus, but if you get hurt outin the woods trekking around and need assistance, you’ve just added another burden on first responders who easily could be used otherwise. There are over 150 HC providers in a Boston that are now infected. That means they had contacts up to two weeks ago. If you need a provider or first responder assistance who regularly contacts the public, you now run the risk of catching it from them...Up to 50% of people who have it are non symptomatic. That means that these people could unknowingly infect many they see, for two weeks. Imo, I like the “day trip.”

How are things in Bishop? I had a trip plan but once all this happened I canceled my trip. I hope you guys got all the climbers out. That pic of 300+ cars at the Happies was ridiculous!!

It’s been a struggle not being able to climb these last couple of weeks

I just plan on hanging around my truck hammocking and reading some books not much hikeing or anything. If you look at it from my spot I still work every day I try to take every precaution I can but I have my 66 year old parents at home so I'm trying to isolate myself as much as I can so I want to get away from people and chill

If I were inclined to go camp out to get away from the masses, or just to get out, I wouldn't post about it in an on-line forum...

Lately its been Allergy season with heavy Pollen and im getting sneezes, running nose, congestion which mimics (in my head) Coronavirus symptoms, all this panic driven media really f**ks with your head, thank god we got TW and turn off the f**king news for awhile.

Both Mono and Inyo have asked people to NOT come here. That seems to be working fairly well. I hope it stays that way till this blows over. So far we've managed to limit Inyo and Mono to a total of 8 cases. I'm sure that will go up though.

That article about the climbers being a problem with the pandemic was correct in theory. However, that photo that's all too famous now, was taken during Thanksgiving weekend. It had nothing to do with the article and was presented in a false light. With that said, climbers have gone home and the ones who haven't are keeping a very low profile. AFAIK, the FS has not officially closed the boulders or cliffs but they have closed all "developed rec sites". Bishop will be back to normal once this all blows over but in the meantime I'm enjoying the peace and quite. lol

I would think isolated camping is one of the only vacations you can reasonably take right now. I just got back from dove springs only interacted with the three people in my group which i either live with or work with already.

It's very strange to see 395 traffic 80% big rigs. One of my coworkers was tested for COVID with results expected today. They closed down the Indy facility out of an abundance of caution.

He tested negative for influenza which prompted the COVID test. I believe he was tested Monday or Tuesday.

Anza-Borrego is open, don’t stop at Borrego Springs or Ocotillo, if COVID ran through that community it would devastate them. No nearby hospitals. Gas up at the 15 and don’t stop in town at all. I agree that staying away from your parents the best you can is good. Also, police will and can ticket you, it’s $400.

I see. That pic maybe have been used falsely, I feel that it definitely helped pull the crowded away. Can’t want to go back up there but once this is all over it’ll be too hot to climb out there but good for backpacking. Hopefully cases stay low.

What don’t people get about STAY AT HOME? And if you’re already home with your parents, it’s too late to make a difference there, but if you’re asymptomatic you could be taking it somewhere else. I get cabin fever, I’m going nuts, but I’m sticking close to home.
