So I'm not usually willing to spend more than $100 on a bottle but I just saw a sign at the store up the road that they have 3 bottles of George T. Stagg for $399. I know it usually goes for more than that but is it really worth it?

That's a pretty standard secondary price. Retail is $100.

It is very good. I don't peg it at $400 good, though.

I can send some your way. Sharing is caring! This bottle was an impulse buy when I was in Iowa last year... sort of a souvenir. Not gonna blow your socks off, but it's a solid port finished bourbon. Better than angel's envy IMO.

Bourbon candy on the nose after a quick hit of heat. Really digging it. I'm not good at picking out flavors by a long shot but there is for sure a dominant chocolate note.

That chocolate carries into the taste too up front. It transitions into oak flavors to balance out. Medium viscosity. Chocolate on the back end again. Low level burn.

Dessert whiskey indeed! I may have to get a bunker bottle of this...

So many choices and no clue what to try for International Whisk(e)y Day....

Do I open a new one...stick with an old favorite... Go for a "rare" one or a high proof one...

    Open to suggestions!

I recently bought one of these and enjoy it quite a bit too. If I saw this post 30 seconds ago I would have made it my first pour and given my description. On the Elijah right now and will probably kill the bottle tonight.
