I tried in an old thread and got no response. My truck is going to get a frame replacement and I'm wondering how it went? What did you replace? How did your truck fare after? Parts that were free or cheap labor to replace while it was apart? Any info would be great! Thank you!

Mine went terrific. The dealership was good to work with. They called me about some stuff they recc. I did one of the things they recc. My dealer off the hop wasn't going to charge labor I have heard of some that tried to charge people labor for replacement of parts that were already coming off. After the swap I didn't have any issues whatsoever.

With the frame replacement you get all kinds of new nuts and bolts, new LCAs, new hard brake lines, etc.

Mine went OK, only issue was dealer broke the clock spring and wanted me to pay for it. In the end I never paid for it. Put third gen suspension on for me but I had to pay a bit of labour for the shock and spring assembly but that’s all. Drives good as new.

I would suggest that after it is completed before you leave the dealership, take a good look under the hood and make sure there is nothing loose under it. One of the clamps on a coolant hose on my truck wasn't tightened up properly and ended up coming off the engine block right as I got home (luckily)...
Ended up with coolant all over the place, total mess.... At least nothing else got messed up...

Mine went well, 18 months later it still drives fantastic. In addition to the bits Toyota replaced I decided to be proactive and replace many parts aged or badly rusted. I did the following - gas tank straps, UCAs, all hoses, intermediate steering shaft, exhaust, outer tie rod ends, steering knuckles. I also scrambled and got an aftermarket rear bumper when I saw how badly rusted the factory hitch was (the factory hitch frame is integral to the factory bumper mounting).

Doing it over I would recommend a steering rack (mine just failed, $$$) and I would have them throw on some remanufactured CV axles on the front since they have it all apart.

One more thought, I installed my lift after I got the truck back with new frame. So I did all of that that associated work and had to get it aligned. If I had been ahead of the game plan I would have provided Toyota shop all lift bits and they would have just returned the truck all bolted up and ready for me to install skids and sliders.

Been over a year with my new frame and no issues at all. Only thing that the dealership didn’t do was re hook up my heated seat wire to the battery. It didn’t look factory so they didn’t re install thats what the service department said. Absolutely zero cost otherwise
