They were the parts that were commonly left out of an A750 rebuild. Clearly if they weren't needed they could be tossed in the redesign.

I do know they eliminated (2)one-way clutches, (1)brake and (1)clutch.

Totally agree with ya. Once she is full....no need to F with it unless leaking...

Maybe they should pot a "window" like my Honda snow blower has to check oil level. hehe...

So you're trying to tell us, that air in the transmission is worse for it then overheating? .....Right.

I suggest you do your own research and reading. There are lots of good articles on the reasons for the move to sealed transmissions. This didn’t happen yesterday.

Ford doesn’t roll the dice with the F150. Their entire company lives or dies with its success. It has a sealed transmission / no dipstick.

No dipstick on the Camry for the last decade, none on the 2G Tacoma.

This whole "no transmission dipstick" probably explains why all these Transmissions are exploding left and right....Oh, wait. Nevermind.

The most reliable and numerous cars on the planet have no transmission dipstick. I think Dodge still puts them in. Buy a Dodge.

Have had several vehicles without trans dip sticks, but trying to tell us, that, air in the transmission case, is going to make the trans fail, more so then overheating the unit??
    I think not.

I'm thinking it has to do with the fluid's bulk modulus

Great timing. My 2013 with 19k miles, I noticed that half the case has an old leak covering the transmission case. Has anyone seen this? It doesn't leave a driveway stain. I'm guessing a gasket leak at some point? Thoughts? (I just got the truck a few weeks ago)

I found his great website called “Google”, that led me to another website called “Wikipedia”. Amazing! I’m sure it’s all bullshit written by the Illuminati, but here yah go:

The wiki entry on sealed transmissions, and why they ditched the dipstick:

A sealed transmission will not overheat unless there is an underlying issue. As a result, probably more than 99% of transmissions will never overheat. On the other hand every transmission that has an dipstick will get air inside and the fluid will oxidize. So you are comparing designing something for <1% vs 100%.

How does more air get through the dipstick with the dipstick seated than a vent tube on any transmission? Won’t air still free flow via the vent?

OP, you should check the fluid level using the instructions found on TW. There are multiple posts about them being low from the factory. Mine was almost a quart low.

    Mostly dust and dirt.
Ford needs to take the live or die by the F150 more seriously. Their new 10 speed has a lot of problems and the 6 speed I had in my 13 was giving me problems despite several software updates.

We have a fleet of them at work. I think 18 Ford trucks with 10-speed total, all less than 3 years old. Not a single transmission issue in the fleet.

    Maybe in the future?
