A fantastic idea. Guessing it's the 12mm-1.25 version? A quick look at Amazon shows its about $24, I see your review, and another one who broke it off. Maybe, if I decide to get one, a test fit into a nut with a torque wrench so if it breaks off, it's not stuck in my pan. Looks like the end the oil comes out of is threaded, which would be a plus. Never fails, every time I do an oil change, it gets windy, blows the stream of oil away from the drain pan all over the place. I could stick a hose barb in the valve, then open to drain into the pan. That alone would be reason enough to get one.

Bizarre on the Prius owner that broke his EZValve. I remove mine occasionally to inspect the gasket for cracks and tears. He must have got a lemon, or he is not being entirely truthful.

OP, the Fumoto valve is the way to go after you replace the pan.

I hope that shop that cross threaded your plug at least reimburses you for the repair. That’s really disturbing.

I was thinking along the same lines. Not the whole truth, a lemon, or counterfeit.

One of the reasons those places don't touch my vehicles, no matter what discounts they're promising. They cross threaded my differential plug after I asked if they could do the oil change without touching the other fluids. Their excuse, I said I could but didn't say I would. I was PISSED. Later was when I found the differential leaking. I didn't go back for fear I'd put my fist in his face.
