Anyone use the Stihl Kombi system? Need a new trimmer and was going to invest in the combo system. I’d probably get the brush cutter/limb trimmer/ and cultivator attachments down the road. 1acre with a lot of trees to trim and weed eat around.

We have a Stihl electric blower. Not the Kombi system, but still a very good unit. Quite powerful, and the battery lasts for a good while. Recharges quickly as well.

I have their handheld gas blower and it’s been great. Dads been running a farm boss chainsaw from them for 20 years now and it’s still kicking.

Batteries are the limiting factor with any electric system. Do you have any other quality battery powered tools? You might want to stay in the same family. At my work I took over two repair groups and merged them into one. They had a complete mishmash of Dewalt and Milwaukee tools. I like both, but I asked the guys to pick a brand. They went with Milwaukee and the complaints about not having the right, charged battery pretty much disappeared. With an acre to maintain extra batteries are going to be a requirement and it would be nice if they could run multiple tools.

Put together a shelf I got from my brother. Gotta build a loft in the top for storage to get all the containers up top. Also installed fence gate latches to catch the doors when there open so they don’t blow in the wind

It's Stihl's interchangeable tool system. It shares a powerhead, which are available in battery and both homeowner and professional gas models. Basically, it replaces their interchangeable gearhead stuff with a system that's easier to swap out. The gearhead stuff requires a professional level machine per Stihl's literature.

I've been comparing prices because I'm in the market for a pole pruner and lawn edger and thinking of replacing my trimmer. All 3 tools in the gas homeowner Kombi system are the same price as a pro trimmer and adding the extra gearheads for the pruner and edger. Buying all 3 homeowner grade tools individually is about $120 more than than the Kombi or gearhead options.

I've been watching this young framer dude on Youtube , his channel is Matt Bangs Wood , anyway , seems like a good young builder

Just curious about a blocking detail they seem to use all the time where flat blocking in a wall , I assume for shear value , is nailed not in line horizontally but each block is nailed alternately approx 10" above and below each other

ie block in one stud bay is 10" higher than next , alternating down the wall

our shearwall panels are always blocked horizontally in line but sheeting here is almost always installed perpendicular to the studs instead of stand ups

is that a seismic code thing ?
