After watching the video, I’m more convinced than ever that this guy is an addict. Yes, he gets in trouble and I’m not condoning this level of stupidity, especially after losing an uncle to a drunk driver and almost losing my sister to one, but this dude needs help. He might have to do some time to get it though....

 

I read that air travel can still occur if it's approved by the government. I imagine Putin in would be willing to make an exception for Khabib, assuming the fight doesn't take place in Russia.

 

Or Dana will have to spring for a Learjet..

 

Same here but addiction sucks for anyone and this guy does need help. He is still a major tool but he needs help, help that he may not get unless something drastic happens.

 

What do you mean "unless something drastic happens"? I think the hit and run accident, then finding out that one of the drivers was a pregnant woman would have been rock bottom for most people.
The real problem is that he only got a slap on the hand for that incident, he got 18 months of supervised probation and some bullshit community service talking to schools kids.
This current situation, if he wasn't Jon Jones and Cops even remotely thought that the driver might have a gun they would have yanked his ass outta that car and slammed him to the pavement in a heartbeat.
I guess we'll see what kind of bullshit affluenza sentence he gets this time..

 

He definitely needs REAL consequences for his actions.

 

What I mean is him being held truly accountable for his actions. It generally takes a significant amount of jail time, but I also hope that something significant is not him killing someone else.

How have you been?

 

Hanging in there. I have been really sick with some nasty upper respiratory issues. My wife got it and they just tested her for COVID 19 so my whole home is in quarantine. I am slowly doing better but she is really sick. We are still waiting on the results.

Hopefully you are doing well? Is Austin able to get much training time in?

All gyms are shut down so no training going on for him. He got the automatic 30 day suspension after his fight so he’s technically not supposed to start training again anyway. He’s home for a couple of weeks

Austin is very talented and just came very close to beating a very tough up and coming guy that’ll make some noise in his division. If that fight took place again my money would be on Austin to start a couple of minutes earlier and get the win. Either way, I’m pulling for him!

Key word for some people. Everyone's bottom is different..some bottoms are the death of the individual. I got caught drunk driving once and that was it for me..on the other hand my brother in law got caught 3 times and for years after still didn't stop drinking even after doing 5 months in the can.

THIS. Not just the legal system. Those around him perhaps should start laying down ultimatums be it friends, family, UFC, whatever.

 

A lot of losers, assholes, drug addicts turn their lives around once they have their first kid, so it's kinda crazy that Jon has three daughters and he's still out there doing stupid shit like this.
Think about Kobe and his daughter and the #girl dad movement, I think that situation probably effected a lot of younger dads that are still trying to re-live their party days.....but apparently not Jon.

 

I think most all of us on here agree he is a major tool but he is also an addict that exhibits all the signs of such. The problem as I see it is that it sounds like he is surrounding himself with people that won’t step up and help him help himself. I just hope an innocent person doesn’t have to die before he wakes up. I come from a family full of this crap and it takes some a VERY long time to wake up, while some never do.

Right before my twins were born (one of each). They are 4 now and I'm still sober. Crazy how good life can get by overcoming alcoholism/addiction. My life is beautiful today.

 

No kids here..but ironically, I got caught drunk driving a day after my sister announced she was pregnant with her first child (just me and her, no other siblings).

You don't go to jail for dwi's either. At least not in Florida. His first one was probably reduced to reckless driving.

 

That's awesome!!! My story is a little bit different than most. I started partying everyday like a rockstar from age 13 and all through my teen years.
Luckily I just lost interest in partying when I was about 18. Then in my 20's all I ever wanted was someone that loved me for who I was and would always be there for me.
Now I'm 52 and I've been sober for 30 years, I have a beautiful wife and an adorable 2 year old son, but lately with this coronavirus drama I could really use a few brews and a couple of bong hits.
