I see some FG hiding in the corner! That's one of my original favorite 'cheap' Scotches, but I feel like the blend has changed some over the years (or at least since 2005, when I turned 21).

ok if it's more than 2 people lol. About one hour from now. Laptop with webcam is good. The link will prompt you to install app or run it in your browser. There is a webex app for phones and tablets as well.

I bored as fuck. My GF is sleeping.

And then, a bit further down the road, we end up at my favorite distillery:

And then it's back to Port Ellen

Been a hell of a two weeks. My team isn't even remotely close to being ready to work from home, the shit hit the fan, we got secure software installed and they *literally* carried desktop workstations to their cars to hook up at home. They've been crushing it. Normal service to the business has been fully maintained. On top of that, I developed some reporting relevant to this outbreak. We serve companies in defense, the medical field, agriculture, shipping, and other critical areas. We've been generating about 1,000 focused reports per week - on top of what we are ordinarily tasked to do. Incredible output that has been integral in helping get our inventory to the businesses that need it and, in turn, helping keep our lights on.

We're slammed, working our tails off, and absolutely producing results. Probably not the most humble description of my week, but damn I'm proud of the work from my team and happy to relax.

I took the gold grill out. It changes the whiskey too much.

Snagged this one at the local Kroger this morning:

Normally I would hang on to a less common bottle for a while before opening. But I figure, before COVID comes and takes my sense of smell/taste I might as well enjoy it, right?

It's definitely rye. It's good. I'm not one to pick out all the little details, but it has more of the oaky bourbon flavors than other ryes I've had. Lots of sweet/cinnamony (? whatever) going on. I'm not usually that into ryes but this one has enough going on to make it a good one. I would say it's moderately burny (maybe 6 out of 10) but only on the finish and that quickly fades. Will certainly require future study.

If I could like this more than once I would. No need for you to be humble. The way folks from multiple industries/workforces have come together to try and fight this thing has really been impressive. Definitely be proud.

Hell of a reason to be proud. Always nice to know when push comes to shove that your people don’t get knocked down. Last company was at I sent my entire team remote all the time. Saved me a crapload of money as part of my budget was office space I no longer had to pay for. I started the movement where I worked tested all the systems made a bunch of changes and last I heard they were doing it for a lot of IT. :)
