Labs are real good at hearing pots and pans clanking and bowls clinking and silverware tinking....

Everytime I sit down to eat he stages himself right underneath me in case I drop something.

One of our Beagles tries to do that every time. I don't let him do that because he will start to think it is his bowl and food. I give him space when he eats, he is made to do the same. ( didn't mean to get on a soap box )

She's too funny. Out hunting, or even just mucking about, she'll get into the nastiest stuff. Looking for birds she's a real ditch witch.
But, at home, if there is the slightest bit of rain she won't go out to pee. She takes a couple steps, and turns around like some prissy queen dog afraid to get her hair wet.

I really think they know when its time to work.

I swear, there are days I wonder if Riley isn't smarter than me. Like today. I bought him a new monkey fist rope toy. Nothing really wrong with the old one but it keeps him engaged. If I put the two on the ground, he'll aim for the new one. Of his stuffed toys, it's the oldest one which is a piece of cloth pretty much. You can tell him "go get your duck" and he will search till the end of the earth then come back with it.
