making sure the pulley is supported properly too. think @12TRDTacoma trimmed the sleeve or something.

Recognize that tensioner @12TRDTacoma ? Lol and that's what I needed to know! Thank you. Trim it off so its level and supports that second bearing.

Yes sir I do! I'm still a little sad I had to send it off, but hey the Roush is performing well, so we all win in the end.

I updated my previous post with some pictures so you can see what I'm talking about.

It looks good man! I tried to clean it up for you the most I can, but it was difficult with the tools I had.

tried to take some pics. 69.5" belt with a 2.3 seems to fit very nice. belt doest feel loose. at least 1/2" from 50mm pulley to crank. might throw on the rosstfactor wrap to see what is. @12TRDTacoma , whatcha think?20200328_102109.jpg

Can you add that to page 1? I was wondering the same thing and that’s what I had settled on but wasn’t mentioned. I plan to modify mine this weekend.

If you use the wrap wouldn’t that warrant going back up to OEM size belt?

What did you use to grind it down? wish I had a grinding wheel but either angle or dremel is what’s available.

That's close to where mine is at with the 69" belt which tells me that you did indeed have an issue with a defective belt due to inaccurately measured effective length when it was made. Do NOT throw on any wrap mods because you run the risk of striking the fan clutch otherwise.

    20190711_162213.jpg

I took this with the old Thump tensioner that @TheFang now has, but that is exactly where my Roush lands as well. Do you see the close proximity of the fins?

Anyone have the torque specs for the SAIS? I have the old FSM but that only goes up to 2011.

i did just mount the wrap, hardly any tension. ive got almost an inch of clearence to the fan fins. looks safe to me. just being cautious. im pretty convinced i got a faulty belt. ill take a picture of the wrapper soon. what belt should i get?

I actually used a pipe cutter believe it or not. It took forever but it made the cut precise and then I just sanded down the burs. Dremel or cut off wheel leaves room for error in making a straight cut and I didn't want to risk that.

If I HAD to use the Dremel I would had finished it off with a belt sander.

It probably was a faulty belt then for sure.

Get an RPM belt and modify it man. You won't have to screw with it for a long time.

I just chalked it up to a mostly common sense thing, but since we are talking custom crap here at this point I gotta remember that sometimes there is more than meets the eye to some of these mods. I can add it later. :)

Dude, that's genius. I was planning on using an angle grinder with a cut off wheel...

Just be aware, because you are cutting billet it will take FOREVER because not only is it thick but it is much harder than copper tubing, so go light on the cuts until you really get established in there and use a few drops of oil on the pipe cutting wheel.

That's weird man... Liike really weird. Maybe you had a seriously oddly defective one. That's what worked for me.
