Military bases on lockdown?

My brother in law is in a California base (keeping exact location quiet for now) and his base was on lockdown for an undisclosed period of time.

Is any one else on lockdown or is this an isolated deal with his base commander?

 

Got a buddy in az who is and another in NG who is active running logistics in the state now. This is fairly standard considering the steps cdc is recommending

 

Makes sense; well as much as can these days. We want to keep our military healthy and ready for anything that comes up.

 

Definitely wanna keep our .mil healthy. But many of these guys can’t get needed supplies for their families now. I have a hard enough time getting diapers for my kiddos and I can shop at any store. Now these guys at the lockdown base can only shop at the PX for stuff... good luck with AAFES keeping up with the demand.

 

And that is the part that doesn’t make sense in all these lockdowns. They are making huge impacts on the people they’re meant to help. I hope he can get what he needs somehow.

From the opposite end ( civilian) I can attest.

Nephew was constantly in contact ( via phone). The notice came about and he went into lock down. Phone as well.

I offer my fullest support for all military personnel reading this and otherwise. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

So you're saying your nephew told you the base was physically closed, and telephones were secured / restricted / prohibited as well?

 

Might be temp, lock down may mean hold until everything is squared. Anything new that comes down typically gets some level of fucked before the line hears it. Bus arrives at 10 make sure they are there by 9, bus arrives at 9 everyone here by 8 type of thing

He is restricted to the base. He is career military.

 

No worries, that said shit coming down gets out no matter what and lock down is already known. It’s all a precaution and you will hear from him in the next month unless they go on training or other deployment. If he is in logistics assume he will or any related transportation.

I don't believe that communication was restricted due to a known illness.

 

Yeah and there is typically three guys in between adding a hour here and there. Gotta love the fun. Bitching about LT is standard procedure in all areas.
