Used 3 chairs for push ups and dips. Curled a bucket of tools I have and dig some squats with the wife on my back.

Thinking about buying a real deadlift bar. I was pulling sets at 600 on a stiff bar the other day and I am really curious to see what the difference is on a legit deadlift bar. Is it worth it?

What is the difference between the 2? And why is a deadlift bar “easier” to pull more weight with? I just did a quick google but seems like unless you use the deadlift bars for your comps it probably wouldn’t benefit you. But what do I know I’m just a string bean

Lots of whip. Let’s you pull a lot of slack out of the bar, so the weight come off the floor plate by plate, rather than abruptly.

I’ve pulled on them a couple times. Feels different for sure. I’m probably not strong enough for it to make a difference in my 1RM.

cailer woolam did a pretty cool comparison video b/w a DL bar and a stiffy. Look it up on the youtubes

I'll look it up. I just would like to have my own personal bar and am not sure if I should get a standard one or go ahead for a deadlift bar.

I’m not strong enough to tell a difference between straight bar and deadlift bar but I’ve seen the guys who are and if you’re one of them, it would definitely make a difference. I can feel the whip, but I'm no stronger on either or. If you’re going to buy a bar you might as well get a deadlift bar, the only disadvantage would be if you also want to squat or press with it you’d be out of luck. You can do all 3 with a straight bar, but you can only deadlift with a deadlift bar

You can start to tell a difference when you get above 500lbs. Easier to break the floor but you have to control more whip on the lift. With what you put up you’ll be able to lift a lot more than a stiff bar.

Today was deadlift day as well, felt like fucking cardio. 320 for 4x10 and a set of 15 at the end leaving 2-3 reps in the tank. First week of Juggernaut is in the books.

I’m not skrong by any means, but pulling on the DL bar seems easier. Might be placebo, but when I try to pull on a stiff bar everything seems to move slower off the floor

Interesting. Breaking the floor on super heavy is where I am weakest so it may help

Strongman does a lot of axle deadlift as well, and there is zero flex in that. It is definitely way harder on a stiffer bar.

Also, skinnier than a stiff bar so it’s easier to grip.

Deadlift bars are much easier than a stiff bar. I can tell a difference at anything over 275ish. USAPL uses stiff bars so I quit training on a deadlift bar and switched to a stiff bar and it fucked me for the first few weeks.

Rogue is probably sold out but they used to often have deadlift bars in the boneyard with minor blemishes for a lower price.
