    I pretty much stick to Stihl, John Deere and Husqvarna for small engine yard equipment. Never had an issue with any of those brands.

    I have a small JD 102. Pretty sure they don't make those anymore. I only have an acre but it's done great for 10-12 years. I replaced fuel filter twice, nothing else. No belts...nothing.

    An observation from my time in Texas. Life goals, get an acreage. Plant the house in the middle. Get matching his n hers riding mowers. Watch sunsets from the porch, taste of brew on your lips, and the smell of fresh cut grass.

    Everyone I know that bought one has had major problems. Never again. Our dealership even went out of business. I still have it sitting in the garage taking up room. It still looks new. Not worth it to me to replace the engine.
