Just lifted my truck 3” today (just 4-5 hours ago). At full droop the UCA’s rub on my coils. Once the lift settles will that stop rubbing or is a new UCA in my future. By the way, the shop said my alignment was about perfect as could be so it’s not like I’d need new UCA’s for alignment purposes

Stock ucas? Do you offroad? If you plan to offroad the vehicle you probably want to go with new UCA’s. Their going to rub even after settling if they rub now.

If you plan to drive over speed bumps with any speed, your uca is gonna hit the coil.

Settling will not affect mechanical interference.

A few dirt roads that take me out to where I hunt and fish and that’s about it

What’s a way to cure this problem? I’ve done so much reading on this lift prior to having it done and no one ever said they ran into this problem

typically when you go over 2” of lift you want to go with a after market UCS. There’s no cure to this problem other than a new UCA or lowering your lift.

Maybe a new uca is in my future soon. I was really hoping I could avoid getting one as it’d help with other mods to my truck. Alignment is spot on but the damn rubbing is gonna irritate me

freedom offroad UCAs are about $340. I’ve been very happy with mine. I had total chaos before that but my winters are too harsh for a uniball.

I’m looking for a ball joint Uca as well. Thank you for the recommendation. How are they holding up for you?

The cure is take the lift off. IFS suspension geometry is very specific. The truth is that 'lifting' an IFS any amount is deviating from that geometry. Aftermarket UCAs are a band-aid, but would help clear your coils.

They’ve been great so far. With a lifetime warranty, I’ts hard to go wrong. Another great alternative is JBA. They’re extremely popular here. My brother ran them for a long time and loved them.

I don’t want to get rid of the lift as I paid for it to be installed. I’ll see what maybe happens after it settles over the next week and go from there. If I need new UCA’s to clear the coils I guess that’s what I will do

It’s a Bilstein 5100 lift all around. The shop set the front shocks to the highest setting and an AAL in the rear

Put a custom bump stop between the UCA and the coil.

    I have the same lift.
With an arb and winch in only net about 1.5"

If your going to get a front bumper dont worry about it.

Either way just leave it alone.

They set the front at the highest setting (2.5”) then added a front top plate spacer for whatever reason?? Never asked me prior to doing it. So it came out to right at 3 inches total all around

The spacer makes the overall length of the shock longer, effectively speaking. One effect of this is you get more droop. This is likely what's causing your UCA to hit, because it's drooping down too much.
