Did i damage my transfer case ?!?!?

Long story short, I went out with a couple of my friends and their buddies to go off roading and some parts in the trail needed to have 4L w/ rear lockers engaged. While I finished that part of the trail I shifted it back to neutral went 4L to 4H and waited, I noticed that the rear locker and 4L were blinking for at least 5/10 sec... the group I was with were waiting for me to move and i was holding them up so I engaged it back to drive... as i engaged it back to drive I heard a VERY LOUD whinning sound sort of like a loud "humm" and both 2 drivers behind me heard it as well... I got scared and quickly shifted it back to park and it went away... I haven't noticed anything wrong but im worried that i may have damaged something... again, this was my first time ever using 4L so im not sure if it can ruin it that fast. Please give me insight to ease my worry lol

Definitely overthinking it, it’s a truck after all go enjoy it!

 

you're good. Stuff gets a little stuck and then actuators slip into place. Fine to do a few times, just not frequently.
