I’m about to pull the trigger on the Ulrtaterrains 265/75/16. I kinda want to go to a 285 but can’t find much with a C load in a 16 and can’t afford new wheels also.

Anyway my question is this. I can’t find any detailed specs on these tires but have heard reviews that they seem a bit wider than the K02 in the same size that I’m replacing. Can anyone confirm this? That is one thing I am wanting to accomplish, a wider stance and don’t want to go the spacer route. So can anyone tell me the tread width of a 265/75/16? My K02 is right at 9 inches. Anything over that will help confirm my decision is the right one. Thanks.

Sorry, I thought that info was in the link. Same size you are considering, 265/75-16.

I tried again but I see that when I post the link, the size gets wiped out.

Just go to the link and insert your numbers and the correct info appears.

Got them. The tread is a bit narrower than the K02. But overall so far I am throughly impressed. But I came from E loads. These are much quieter and much much smoother riding.

Took this pick while on the jack and want to take the 5100’s from the 1.75 to 2.5

I have been researching tires for my Tacoma off road for a few months. Finally decided on the GY Ultraterrains over the BFG Ko2. They balanced well and the ride is very smooth. Can’t wait to take them out in the snow.

So the silver taco was my first 3rd gen Tacoma (4 prior to that).. I ended up selling it and buying a Jeep.. I had regrets and got back into a taco as soon as I could.. anyways, as much as I loved the look of my last taco, driving performance and mpg’s suffered. Nothing major, just overtime the handling characteristics of a lifted truck starts to wear on you if you’re using it as a daily driver. I decided to keep things simple and maintain the oem drive quality on this one.. I was debating between these ultra terrains, Pirellis scorpion plus, and the cooper at3 4s.. I decided on these apprehensively but man Im glad I did.. this thread is spot on, it’s an outstanding tire!! I kept It stock With
265 70r 16. These tires are unbelievably quite, handle extremely well and soak up the small bumps like butta!!

I bought my grey metallic used and was getting 17mph’s on geolanders HT’s (dealership put them on) via city driving and it went down to 16.8 so not much of a hit.. for reference I was getting 12 to 13 on my first silver streak taco with 285 70 17’s and a 2 inch 5100 lift.

I’m extremely happy with the looks of the truck and driving performance. Discount tire was an absolute dream to deal with.. Not only did they have these priced nicely but they gave me 260.00 credit on my Yokohama geolander trade ins (they were new) that the dealership had put on.

Just installed a set of 265/75R16 on my TRD Sport. Very happy with the look. Not loud at all. I do have an occasional slight rub on the mud flap. Discount Tire was excellent, letting me install the beadlock rings after the tire was mounted and before balancing.

Ordering a set tonight. Interested to see if people bought the credits/insurance for the tires? I noticed they don't have a milage warranty.

Wondering if you have any lift on your truck? My truck is leveled on bilstein 5100s and I'm wondering what tire size i can get away with without any scraping on the wheel well or cab mount. Thanks for any info

Very nice, I narrowed it down to the Ultra Terrains and the Pirelli A/T Plus. I rack up a lot of highway miles and worried that the UT’s would be pound, or might get loud when worn. So I went with the Pirellis and have about 4000 miles on them, so far so good.

Got the ultraterrains in 265/70/16. I was going to go with the 265/75 but I was worried about potential rubbing with the 3.5” backspacing of my SCS Stealth 6’s. Only slightly louder than the stock kevlar’s. Can’t wait to try them out off pavement.

Great shots of the tires. Yea those wheels stick out a bit. I'm down to those tires or Wildpeak AT3W? Thoughts? I have GY Wr Authorities which have been great but are getting loud.

I was down to the same tires as well. I ended up going with the Goodyears as I know the brand much better. The tire shop had both the Wildpeak's and Ultraterrain's side by side and they seem to be virtually the same tire with slightly different tread patterns. After tons of research on the Wildpeak's, Ultraterrain's, and KO2's, in my opinion, you can't go wrong with either one and I believe both are better than the beloved KO2's.
