I do too actually, so I bought one. Actually comes in handy a lot when fabricating in the garage too

I don't know if I want to wrap the whole truck myself, wrapping the truck is going to cost as much as a paintjob around here.

Anyway, someone told me I can't wrap over corroded clearcoat.

When I'm long dead, sure.

 

You cannot, it will be wrinkly as a ball sack and pull off easily. Wrapping a single part like that trunk would be easy enough for a beginner but having helped with some wrapping, I wouldn't even take on a bumper or a roof myself.

 

Its not hard to do its just setting the gun and mixing it right but youre you and anal about that so youre fine

 

I have on flip cars to save $ comes out good enough

 

I'm going to paint the roof and hood either way. If it ends up looking halfway decent I'll paint the entire truck.

The Cali sun is just not very nice to paint here. I saw a Corolla the other day with the clearcoat peeling up in sheets.

 

My Corolla needs some roof love.. she’s got no clear left.

 

The clear on my tacoma is still perfect where it didnt get crunched

 

Just sand the clearcoat off, leaving the base coat nice and smooth. Good to go for the wrap.

 

I'm glad I know people who wrap and have decent paint to begin with.

 

I've painted plenty with my HVLP, it's getting the settings right that's difficult.

I'm most proud of my arcade cabinet paintjob, I mixed Rustoleum Black Enamel paint cut with Acetone and shot it with my HVLP. It was silky smooth.

 

Clear on my Taco is good, benefit of a white truck. The 4runner, it's meh. The roof is starting to show and the plastic fender flares look like shit. The hood paint is all fucked up and I need to redo the matte black I sprayed on there cause it kinda looks like shit and needs to cover more hood.

 

Maybe on the Nissan. I'm a stickler for paint.

 

Than what are you stressing about?

 

Well your Corolla has what, like 850k on the odometer? According to Google Street View the clear on my truck gave out in roughly 2010, with only 60,000 on the odometer.
