Very frustrating. From what I gather, some do it and some do not. I have had two tundras prior. No issue with either. I may see another Tundra in my future. No sunroof.

That’s nothing wait until you park on a slight incline when its raining and water leaks in along the firewall cowl near the driver’s side kick panel and causes your interior lights to come on until it dries out.

I actually parked on a slight incline when I had to go out of town. I drove a company car and left my truck in the parking lot. We had a hard rain and then hard freeze. When I got back, the water froze and had filled the track to the point of running over. Just does not seem like a good system to me.

I haven’t bought a vehicle with a moonroof in years for this reason. Just one more thing to go wrong. Is this always the case?? Absolutely not, but I like simplicity. I would have a turn key and hand cranked windows if I could hahaha.

It's called the "Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation" package. It includes the premium audio with nav (as the name suggests), dual zone climate control, and heated cloth seats. So basically it is like getting the normal "Premium" package without the sunroof and leather.

I know this is slightly old but I wish I would have seen it about 6 hours ago. After months of research and a month of negations, I pulled the trigger on a Tacoma Pro today with 5 miles. Thankfully it started pouring right before I left the lot to drive home. I am having the SAME EXACT THING with mine. I never even left the lot. The dealer insists this is normal and what the tray is made for. They gave me a loaner car for the night and I am supposed to go back in the morning. This can NOT be a normal expectancy. What if I lived in Washington? I would just have musty water in a tray inside my vehicle all day?

Something has to give for this....I am not sure if I can cancel my sale or not. I never even left the lot. I guess I will find out in the morning.

Is water getting in the truck? Is it staining the headliner?

I only had it for 25 seconds before I was like, "this can't be right." So far it just drips into that tray. But I left the dealer and supposed to return tomorrow. No possible way I can live with a vehicle that rains inside.

I've never notice that in my '18 and have been in some crazy hard downpours. Definitely no leaks and about 99.9% sure I would have noticed that dripping leak or not.
This is the third vehicle I've had with a sun/moon roof and none have leaked or been any problem. My wife had a Mitsubishi Outback for about 10 years with a sunroof and never leaked.

Was it pouring in onto the seats and interior?

Well apparently they are putting three of them side by side tomorrow and showing me they all do it. I’m not blaming the dealer at this point, it’s Toyota!!! Never been so disappointed.

I waited forever to finally get the Tacoma I wanted, the pro. Pages and pages of notes and looking for a specific color. Sold my 2010 FJ with 50k miles just to get it.

I put it in drive and notice that. What a sickening and heartbreaking feeling. Not to mention the $50k you just left inside.

Toyota needs to fix this, ASAP.

It was not. It was just dripping every few seconds just like the OP’s video. 100% identical. Apparently they are going to show me three more next to mine that do it tomorrow.

Stock AF. My 68 Bronco and 2000 2.5RS get the mods.
I'm not going to climb too deep into this thread, but there's a very good reason the sunroof on most vehicles has FOUR drains that are at least 3/8" ID.

Should it leak every time it rains? No. Will it eventually? Yep. If it reaches your headliner or actually makes it into your truck, well, then you have a real problem.

Edit: make sure your drains are clean and fully connected, there is that.

As I am reading this, we have a monsoon moving through my town. I went out and checked my 18 sunroof and it is dry on all sides. Having said that, I have a 11 Highlander that does drip when going through a car wash. No issues though because of the drip pan. I would say that yours needs adjusting or a new seal.

They adjusted mine four times, changed the seal, changed rear light seal, pressure tested it, sent Toyota engineer, it did not help at all.

My 2000 Landcruiser had a tight seal

2017 4Runner with no leaks ever

Those were the only 2 vehicles I'll ever have with a sunroof because apparently I was lucky

Does it leak even with light rain? Mine stays dry during normal weather/conditions but if go through a touch less car wash a couple of drips collect on inside of the seal. It's normal for the style of seal, that's what the drip tray is for. My old 4runner was the same and after 15 years there was no issues or corrosion.
