Hi, Ken, I quit using my re-useable bags :( and won't take my bread out of the bag, but will wipe it down real well and same with cereal (and the like) boxes. Don't want a lot of bags in the pantry :notsure:

Last things I had delivered, sprayed the boxes with Lysol and let sit for awhile. Cut the box open and opened the flaps. Washed my hands, pulled the items out, wiped them down, and let them sit for a day, on top of the stove. Broke the boxes down and put in my recycle bin, then washed my hands again.....

    Yes thanks, good video!

I am safe about a lot of things, but I have NOT been that safe with food. On one hand we DO debag everything in the garage and those areas are subsequent cleaned and then treated as a "dirty area", but we don't wipe down all containers.

I will say a couple things........this is NOT how people are getting infected. They are getting infected - yes- by touching things, repeatedly, and touching their faces and such from locations where the infected people are. And that mainly means loved ones in the house and coworkers. OR health care facilities - like assisted living locations and hospitals.

2nd thing, and related to the first, it's about viral load. Your likelihood of being infected goes up with the amount of virus contacted and how much you transfer to your membranes - nose, areas of the mouth and around your eyeballs. Again with the repeated consistent contact. Continue to be 100% vigilant, but don't worry about walking through an area. Open a door, then sanitize. Don't touch your face. Don't rely only on hand sanitizer, wash and dry with a disposable paper towel. Don't worry about your clothes, but leave your shoes on the porch.

Yes I was in that field before I changed careers, and my wife works at a hospital. Be safe.

 My main thing with food / stuff picked up @ the store is, you don't know who has handled the items before you. Did they just sneeze or cough in their hand? Are they infected? Yes, chances are slim of getting something off a can/box, but I can't afford to take a chance. If I bring it in, will I touch my face before the bug dies? Since they are saying can live for 3 days....

How many have received their "Trump's coronavirus guidelines for America" postcard? I don't know what it said, I sprayed it down both sides with isopropyl alcohol, like I do with all the mail, mailbox doors, etc., and all the ink ran off. I'm sure it was VERY important, though. haha

We are currently under stay at home orders in Colorado, however we are allowed to go to the liquor store. Denver had problems with long lines at the liquor stores before they went under the stay at home order. Denver issued their stay at home order first and the state followed suit a day later. But the state excepted the liquor stores. We can't get toilet paper but we can get beer:rolleyes:

I decide to buy something before touching and - definitely take from the back or middle of the shelf never the outermost package/can - I have always done this.

My trip to town yesterday was quick, could have shot down main street without hitting anyone, only one vehicle on the other one way street coming back thru town. Dropped my tax papers off, had seen the wife of the duo who have a tax/real estate/financial planning office at Safeway, she said her husband would be there already. Even though tax returns aren't due for two months, still wanted mine done and help them out.
Wet here, not much rain and no light snow yet.

Sounds like it is going to be awhile before you can get the garden planted. Planting the garden would be a good stay at home activity.

    Cheers

    Afternoon all:
Was just watching a stupid video made by "Phil" on Duck Dynasty. Well, I did learn something, he was talking about using leaves if you run out of TP, but did caution not to use poison ivy leaves!

Watching what's going on with the coronavirus, anyone else get the impression of how ill prepared we really are if there were to be a major bio attack on one of our big cities?
To me the writing is on the wall, hopefully this will serve as a wake up call. :notsure:

I'm at work today, too. Sitting here at my desk at home trying to lead the college like an RPV somewhere over Afghanistan. I think I'm getting into a routine...and looks like it will last another month at least.

    Stay safe, folks!!
