Any 2009-2010 Corolla reviews?

Hi, my wife is getting ready to have a new car. Right now she has a civic and it has been a great car, but we both really like the looks of the new corollas. My parents have one of the new civics and I really don't care too much for the looks of them on the inside or out.

I searched and looked through the threads for threads with corollas experiences in them, but most of what i got was just peoples opinions on how they looked. What I am looking for are any reviews about the car from actually owners or even people that just know people that own them. Does it perform well, or what problems do you know of people having with them?

    Thanks.

My wife has a 2009. The dash rattles a little bit and the steering is super sensitive. Other than that it's perfect. Can't beat 38 mpg!! I don't see us getting rid of it any time soon which is saying something for us. So, I recommend from my experience. The civic seems to be better built on the inside but we got the le trim level. The s seems nicer.

Not everyone needs a ¼ton truck for getting groceries. And I believe he already has one.

My wife has a Honda Fit and loves it ... great car to drive to work in the city.

Civic, Fit or Corolla would be on my menu ... drive all 3 and see which one you like.

Thanks for the input, I do already have a tacoma we really need a car that gets good gas mileage as we do quite a bit of traveling, but don't want something that isn't going to last at least 10 years for us. We take good care of our vehicles and that is usually my target to keep our cars.

    Yes.
I have a 2009 XRS that I purchased new in March of 2008. It's a fun car to drive and even with the 2.4, I still get 30+ MPG.

My Rolla has 184,000 miles, the transmission had to be rebuilt at 183,000 miles. Which was rather disappointing after the experiences I have had with my other Toyotas. (2001 Sienna with 365,000+ miles.)

All around, it's a good car for the money.

Alright, we need to get some shit straight here:

There is nothing remotely sporty about a Corolla. And I have a Matrix (aka Corolla Wagon) with 170k on the clock, so yes, I am qualified to judge.

They are AWESOME cars, but sporty doesn't even come into the equation.

Yes I would've. Their Tacoma review is spot on in what it covers. It just doesn't cover many items the Tacoma does very well.

TTAC is by far the fairest review site on the web.

That is fucking awesome. My goal for my Matrix is 300k on the original motor/transmission. Right now I'm a little over halfway there and it still drives like a new car.

Of the three models CE LE & S, imho the S is the sportiest. Were not comparing to any other vehicle. I didnt think the OP was looking for any other info but the Corolla.

Comparison to other vehicles is not necessary. Comparison to reality is enough. You can also argue that the Dodge Sprinter is the sportiest Panel Van, on account of the name.

Corollas are econobox appliances, regardless of trim level. That doesn't make them bad...I love mine precisely BECAUSE it's such an excellent econo box...it never breaks, gets fantastic mileage, is super maneuverable in parking lots and insane rush-hour traffic...
