Went and picked up a set of 4 chairs and a plastic folding table for the kitchen since I'm sure the furniture store won't be open for who knows how long, since I am still waiting for my kitchen table, chairs and sectional

Well, I'm done for today... After this, I have 3 more of these CBS left....

Got all the iron near-boiler piping banged out.

Need to start on the wiring, and I might start on that today... Or not...

Really wish I could find a press brake. Need to make some repeatable 90s in some 1/8 steel bar stock...

So with all the car deals going on, wife wanted to go look at some, see what they are like in person. Have a local dealer with a bunch of brands, one being volvo, she was interested in their suv lineup.

Well we pull in, and they have some 2500hd's off to the side...she's instantly in love. We take a look at them, she loves it with the WT black grill and none of the chrome etc... I get her over to the Volvo's and its just not her thing at all. Convinced her the 2500 is a bit much, even though I'd love one. She's now looking at the LT Trailboss or Custom Trail Boss models. Some places are taking 10k off, gonna see if we can work a little more and maybe get some of that sweet 0%. :anonymous:

If it isn't a super good deal, not gonna force it though, because her 4runner is just fine.

Anyone got any word about these things? Her dad loved chevy, her mom has a 201* Silverado and happy with it.

I'd rock a 2500hd in an absolute heartbeat. It very well may be be my next truck. Gas for me, I think it's a 6.7? Nice vehicle.

Edit: 6.6 with Allison 10 speed. Sweet.

Yes, I would do a gasser, she does NOT need the power. It would tow my tractor easy. The thing is, I think a 1500 would too, the tractor is 5-6k, so even with a trailer I'm around 10k.

If do the 1500, going for new v-8 with the 10speed. Trying to arrange a test drive, but not sure how this works with new york on "pause"

Yeah, that's what keeps me from the 2500 right now, my 1500 Sierra is a pretty capable truck. My boat is close to 4500lbs and it's not that much of an issue at all. Would a 2500 tow nicer? Yes I'm sure, but it's not like I'd worry about towing fairly heavy with my 1500. They tow pretty well.

What do you use to tow the tractor now? For short trips, a properly equipped half ton would do fine. If you tow it a lot, I'd definitely step into a 3/4 ton but you can properly spec out a half ton truck and be within the limits (likely still be over on payload a little bit).

I don’t! I have access to a truck and trailer that could if need be. But if I did it wouldn’t ever be more than 30 mins in 45mph max zones.

I’d stick to the half ton. I’m not sure how many miles a year you drive but the 3/4 ton gassers are gas guzzlers. They tow really well but ride fairly rough and drink gas. I love driving one, but it’s definitely impractical for me. I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy one unless it’s just something they want or they really need it.

Yeah, we don't need a 3/4 and she wouldn't want to drive it around town, a 1/2 will be perfect, if not overkill  I think she drives about 12-15k a year.

I wouldn’t daily a 2500/250, too much truck too much money for a daily that I wouldn’t use. I’ve considered my next vehicle will instead be two. A smart car and a full size pickup. We’ll see how things pan out.

April 30th now in the US. Gonna be a weird year.

100% which is why we are down to 1500 silverados and sierras right now  I agree tho as far as your next choices go, I used to have a focus st and a f-150 at the same time a few years ago, was really nice to go back and forth depending on need/ wants of the day. Smart car is a little too little tho. I've been digging the honda fits. A nice plug in hybrid or electric version would be nice.

yeah that was an exaggeration. I work 5 miles away so a plug in hybrid would be ideal. Hatchback does I can open the hatch and the dog jumps in. I had a Mazda 3 before the Tacoma.

at the same time a small corolla hatch gets like 40mpg and I like base trim stuff so I can pull one off for like 10k when the time comes, and just keep the Tacoma until that dies and then get a bigger truck.

unless the 4gen Tacoma comes in plug in hybrid option. If it does, that’ll be hard to ignore.

I hate to say it, but I've even looked sorta hard at that little yaris hatch they have now too. I used to love big trucks and over-sized stuff, while I still do...I'm also starting to really appreciate smaller, but fun cars. I want both!:angrygirl::angrygirl:

    Morning all.

I'm seeing an annoying amount of CT and NY license plates on the road lately. So I'm sure our positive cases of COVID will be on the rise soon.

I can't have a sporty car, went too fast. But I can definitely have an efficient car alongside my truck. I always liked big trucks, but never had a desire to actually own one. I have no need for anything bigger than a Tacoma. Maybe an F150 because they're a good truck and cheap and easy to maintain, and maybe a Raptor because...well, you would, wouldn't you :D

Not before I leave RI though - vehicle taxes are brutal, and they don't exempt trade in from trucks, so a raptor would be a 50k purchase with 7% tax on the full 50k plus (in my town) 37.10$/1k in NADA clean value o_O not worth it.

Those going upta camp. I'll be honest if I had been in quarantine and told I had to work online and kids had online school, and my options were to stick around the city of Hartford shitshow, or go up to my lakefront cabin with the fam for a few weeks....:notsure: I get the annoyance though, because you could be asymptomatic or still in incubation during the trip up, and then you land in the middle of BFE where the resources aren't ready for an outbreak on the elder population.

It's a tough situation to control though, because we can't mirror (insert country to not be political) who had a more draconian approach and restricted a lot of freedoms. We don't have the resources and don't want to do that in front of the world to have that sort of control over our population. So it's a lose/lose - either the outbreak spreads, or you're in a pseudo-police state type of thing. There's already lawsuits (that are silly) for states restricting gathering sizes, weeks ago.
