    That wobbly cv shaft play in the diff on driver side is normal for tacomas. ECGS sells the bushing to fix that.

    Thanks for replies guys. I got the ECGS on order but I’m not convinced it’s gonna help my leak.
    Preparing for worst case scenario.
    Gonna go home and mess with it some more.

    Yes - 3 times. I'm 98% confident the latest seal is at the correct depth. I've been advised to check the front diff vent line which I will do after work.

    When I first noticed the leak I took it to a shop I trust they changed just the seal. Ok for a month then leaking again. I decided to change the cv axle (myself) did the seal again, only held a short while before leaking again. I know I messed up the seal depth when trying to get the new cv back in. So I took it my friend (who is amazing with 1st gen, basic knowledge 2nd-3rd gen) he reinstalled cv and new seal. This held for a 1-2 mos and now its back leaking, just noticed it last night my whole pumpkin is wet. Will clean it up after work to see if leak still coming from the same spot or what.
