Beautiful day here today. Went out for a nice run and it was eerily desolate out. Amos is enjoying being one with nature and Louisa is out looking for something to kill. Don’t tell you kids but she’s killed two Easter bunnies recently

And Suki is enjoying the nice cool breeze coming through the living room window.

At first we thought he was hungry so we put food down. He would nibble for a few minutes and then come right back into the bedroom. He whimpers and stomps on me, then my wife, and back and forth with a few rattling of the blinds in between for good measure, and there is no comforting him or settling him down. He’s in good health, we just had him at the Vets office in January and everything was good. His blood levels were all perfect which was great news being that he is 14. Last night we put up a cat gate to the bedroom and he pawed at it and whimpered (which was heartbreaking to hear ) but I don’t know what to do. During the day he’s fine??

Has anybody else’s cats been acting strangely?

Have some extended play time before going to bed to burn off some energy. Maybe a few snacks to help him feel more comforted.

When he is bothering you in bed, are you letting him and encouraging him to lay down?

It's just a cheap inexpensive throw rug but I can't understand why it's fraying so badly, it's not that old.

We had similar issues when we moved to our new house. We closed the bedroom door, and when the pawing and whining started, a tennis ball or small sandbag from a game was tossed at the door. It took a fwe nights, but it stopped. That was a year ago, with then three cats, and currently no issues. It's rough the first few nights, but it gets better.

We started doing that yesterday. Kept him awake during the day. He loves the inner cardboard thing of a toilet paper roll so we gave him a new one to play with.

When he is bothering us we have tried pushing him away, putting him on the ground, petting and comforting him. He behaves for a few and then goes right back to it.

Yeah, I think we need to just tough it out. We feel bad because they have always slept with us. Now the others are locked out as well. I will admit it was nice to not act like a contortionist all night.

With everyone being home. Not only at your house, but everyone else's as well. The different sounds that he's hearing may be upsetting him.
When we moved down here, our one cat went from brave to suffering from anxiety.

Her home went from a quiet place, as windows were usually closed because of the cold winters or hot and humid summer Toronto, Canada.

But now we have the windows open almost all the time, and she can now hear people, birds and other household noises. They pick up sounds that we don't. Even at night.

l don't know if this helps at all. But l figured it couldn't hurt.
