sometimes you can get better deals on the superduty's than the f150's. my fiance was looking at those before he got the raptor, because the loaded out f150 was more than a comparable gas superduty

Yeah, this too - I could handle a "small" F250 if it was cheaper than the F150, but I also don't go for high trims and I would consider MPG long term costs too. The current 2.7 F150 gets something like 20mpg on fuelly, where the 250 (not wanting to filter it down to engines) is 13.5, so there could be fuel cost differences that make the more expensive F150 worth it. I'm a fan of the F150 extended cab flat floor too. If I didn't get the Tacoma, I would have gotten one of those. Maybe next truck, too.

This is how I ended up with a 250 to begin with. I was pricing out a 150 and found that the max tow, payload package, tow mirrors and brake controller were all options and added up to quite a lot of money over the base truck cost. They were also hard to find used with all that stuff built in (it's amazing to see how many used half tons don't even have a receiver on them). I figured out fairly quickly that I could spend a lot of money equipping a half ton to do what I want, or just buy any 3/4 ton and it would already come ready to tow/haul (except for the Chevy's because apparently they still produce a lot of 3/4 ton trucks without tow mirrors).

'Small' F250? You're about right with the MPGs though, low teens. 15-16 is the best I've ever done with mine.

Just getting back on the forums - who would have thought working from home is more hectic than working in the office or in the field..

Kissing all my travel tiered statuses goodbye this year...

I mean if I needed a personal vehicle I'd look at a supra or something :D

Extended cab short bed, I wouldn't need a crew cab/dually/8ft bed, so yeah I consider what I'd want to be a "small" 250 that's basically the same size just a bit burlier than the 150. Same if I went with any of the big 3 for an HD.

They want to self-isolate in their cabin? I'm cool with that. But do it smart; buy your supplies/stuff/etc and then stay there.
But the ones that are up here doing tourist-y shit? Stupid, stupid people. People parked at scenic overlooks? STAY HOME!

I love that he has a work truck, but then would buy the F250 as the 'personal vehicle'. That said, F250 Tremor would make a nice cruiser...

i think his truck is the best of both worlds, fast and sporty, but can still drive it in the winter
the boy loves trucks haha. he ended up getting the raptor for only a little more than the f250. he didn't want to spend the money, but i'm like "you kept your last car for 8 years, get the car you really want"

    But...But....It's pretty!

(I hate those scenic overlooks even without the containment stuff going on).

Yeah I get what you mean, I am not up there so I don't see how bad/stupid it is. I didn't spend much time up past Portland in the summers when I was living there, not worth it - too many tourists :rofl:
